Cousins Custom Remodel

They were very easy to set up the project, but aren't great with further communication. Jason Cousins came out to bid the work. Went over the scope. Jack and another young man came out to prep. Jack did the painting of the cabinetry. Looked beautiful, however within a few weeks the paint was cracking in "several" places. Now the paint isn't just cracking it's pealing off the cabinets. It looks horrible. I have reached out and Jason told me he would come look at it, he never did. I reached out again, Jason told me he would make it right he has never contacted me or come to the house. Will send pictures shortly

Do yourself a favor and find a different person to renovate your house. Jason and his entire team cut every corner they can. Poor prep work always leads to bad paint jobs. Jason likes to use bondo and a lot of cheap solutions that won't stand the test of time. Within a few weeks of our kitchen remodel completion, we started to notice paint literally flaking off the doors and drawers (that were assembled by Jason.) In addition, the paint is not smooth at all - some parts are really shiny/glossy and others are dull. The floating shelves that Jason and Billy (who is no longer with Cousins Custom Remodel) put up are not level. Jason tried to fix this be hammering a shim behind the shelves, but this solution did not last. The blind corner cabinet hardware that Jason has replaced once already is not working as it should and neither my wife nor I want to have Jason or anyone from his team back in our house to honor his "warranty" which is a joke by the way. Look Jason and his other businesses up on the Oregon Construction Contractors Board and you will find several complaints and violations about every single one of his companies. DO NOT HIRE HIM!

Cousins customs remodeled my kitchen and bathroom, they hit their start date, and finished when they said they would be finished! The finish product exceeded our expectations, Jason did a great job by designing our project. The quality was top notched, and the price is very competitive! Would highly recommend them to anybody!

Kudos to these guys!! 13000 dollars cheaper and it looks like we paid full price. I can’t express the excellent craftsmanship and dedication given by Cousins. Take it from us, if you want the WOW factor choose Cousins. You won’t be disappointed!! Walt & Meri Cooper

Jason recently completed a bathroom remodel for me. He was on time, took his time and the outcome was perfect. I have hired Jason in the past and I can definitely state with time his work just keeps getting better. He installed crown molding, floor molding, wainscoting and trim. He caulked all the corners and seems so all I had to do was paint the finish product to the color I desired. Thanks for the great work Jason.

We hired Cousin's to build new uppers for the kitchen and a custom built-in for the bedroom, as well as, reface cabinets in our kitchen and bathrooms. We fired the company due to shoddy workmanship on the cabinet boxes that were custom built. We had him complete the refacing of the lowers as the company did get good reviews for the work done by Jack, who does the painting and finishing work. Also, because he already had our money and we wanted something to show for it. We are happy with the refacing (so far, although there are some chips starting to occur without any normal use) and Jason worked with us to complete the job per our agreement. To his credit, he offered to rebuild ALL of the custom uppers. However, we did not think the the work would be to our satisfaction, so instead hired a different custom cabinet builder. I would not hire Cousin's Custom for any NEW BUILD work. It is cheap (made of MDF, not plywood) and they cover up mistakes with Bond O and caulk, which will not hold up over time. Jason indicated his employees were just in a hurry on our job and was not normally their standard, but it indicates the type of building that is acceptable to him and he loaded the pieces on the truck to be installed. Again, to his credit he offered to rebuild everything. However, I should not have hired him to begin with. He is an affable, fast talking guy. I was persuaded by the reviews on this site and his affordable price. I regret that decision as it was a terrible experience all around. It cost way more and delayed the project because we had to hire another company to finish the job.

We hired Jason of Cousins Cabinets on 4-13-18, to take down our kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors. Doors were to be stripped to bare wood, then varnished and painted. Doors were brought back and bases painted. Bill the helper did all the work, and did a pretty good job, however there were 3 things that needed to be done, He said he would be back. Said Jason told him to get the balance of the $2500.00 . As of 6-20-18 they have not returned to finish the job.

We used Cousins Customs to reface our cabinets. They were promp and on time!! Jason was great to work with!!! I would highly recommend them to everyone!! We would definitely use them again!!

Please avoid this contractor. He did our kitchen reface over two years ago. They failed a year into it. He said there was a "ten year warranty" and that's the only reason we used him. The cabinet reface failed!!! I tried to contact Jason but he never responded to me. I finally called his brother Mike and he said, "we closed that company and the warranty died with it" and then he hung up. Mike them said he never did the work so I sent him a photo of the M&J emblem they burn into the drawers. He never responded back. Now I found out him and his brother just started another company doing the same work. This is what bad contractors do! They sweet talk you, do bad work, and when the complaints start coming in, they close the business and start another one. I'm now out $7000 and have to replace everything now because of the people who run this company. BUYER BEWARE!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
