We decided to have the renovation of our two upstairs bathrooms done by M.A.K. Remodeling Services after serious research of several companies in the area who could do this work. We were new to major renovation and we not sure what to expect. Our experience was absolutely wonderful. The care, consistency and diligence with this project was phenomenal. Their professional staff and design support is as just what we needed. Our expectations were exceeded by MAK and their wonderful team. MAK did a fantastic job remodeling our master bath and fireplace built ins. The crews were incredibly professional and truly cared about the quality of the product.

We received several estimates to complete our unfinished basement. But is was something about Rob’s professionalism, customer service and knowledge of PG County’s permit regulations that confirmed for us that MAK would be the contractor. And like every good leader, he’s staff was an example of the type of leadership and business Rob runs. From the moment we met the Office Manager, Sophala, we knew we were in the right place, as she redirected my husband’s expensive taste; she promised to keep us on budget thru the process, and that she did as she purchased products for our project! So professional, patient an accurate ordering. Along with her crew, even in her absence, Anthony and Skyler covered and the process continued without interruption. Then we met our project Manager, Wayne! Wayne was so patient and accommodating of all my concerns. He delegates and his crew gets the job done! And all of his workers are professional and take pride in their work. Team Jerry (Jerry, Duane and Oscar) framed and installed the plumbing for our wet bar and full bathroom with shower. They did an amazing job! Showed up early every morning, kept us abreast of every move and always including us in the process. It was mind blowing to see how an unfinished basement was framed into rooms of exactly what we had envisioned! They cleaned up every night after work and took their trash with them. Duane always arrived bright and early ready to start with jokes to calm my nerves. “This is the man cave!” Jerry would keep the team focused and stayed on target; he’s a master at woodwork, cutting with such precision and hung the most beautiful cabinets we ever saw. And Oscar was so soft spoken but framed the heck out of our bathroom! Then there was soft spoken Donny. Hard worker and arrived early every morning; some mornings I would open up the blinds; and there he sat in his truck, waiting to start work. Finally the finishers, Jorge and Jose! Both made excellent finishing touches; Jorge oversaw the installation of our quartzite countertops, installed our microwave, installed our barn door, finished the plumbing for our sink and simply did anything we requested to our liking with professionalism, and with a smile. Jorge provided excellent customer service! “The littlest details makes all the difference! “We were especially impressed with how Jorge interacted with the trade professionals and how he tutored his young apprentice Ricarlos, who also was eager to learn and work. I can’t express how grateful we were that Jorge assisted the final inspections (WSSC and PG) we passed all of them without incident! Such a smooth process!!!! Jose had the awesome job of putting the final paint touch ups; fixing plugs; sealing tile; painting doors and making this just the way we wanted it. He takes such pride in his work and leaves it so clean afterwards. If it’s “no good”; he will fix it and make it right! We HIGHLY recommend MAK for you next home improvement project!

We did a bathroom update and they were quick and professional. The job was completed one day ahead of schedule, and they even took the time to pay attention to the small details. I would hire again.

We are very happy with the several remodeling projects M.A.K. completed for us including the master bathroom, guest bathroom and other work moving some ductwork. M.A.K. remodeling services is a small company, but, they deliver BIG. Staff very friendly and professional. Jerry, is considered "the finisher" and he is worth his weight in GOLD. Anthony is a new employee and he did all the running around sort of stuff. He is great too. The contractor Hernan is truly an artisan when it comes to granite. He did a beautiful job placing our granite in kitchen and bathroom. The fellow who did our flooring also did a great job. Sophala, office manager, is super great!

We chose MAK to do our Kitchen, Deck, Basements Stairwell, Basement, and our Gutters after our wonderful experience with them doing one of our bathrooms. Truly a full-service, general contractor. MAK and their crews are professionals and stay on the job until it's complete. We trusted them in our home while we were not there. Trust is priceless and they definitely earned our trust. MAK Remodeling did our recent bathroom remodel. Large project....tore out prior bathroom, closets, moved walls, etc. Very happy with end result. Rob was great to work with, easy to reach, and listened to any concerns we had. Jorge's workmanship was outstanding. We only had one minor issue from beginning of project to end, but that was a result of my mistake and not theirs. Would recommend their services to others and in fact are now scheduling them for a second project.

We have had a great experience with M.A.K. Remodeling. They are creating an in-law suite for us and it looks good so far! They have arrived promptly each morning and cleaned up the work area each evening. We feel the guys are always very respectful of our home. Very happy with my experience with MAK Remodeling! We found them to be reasonably priced in comparison to the 4 other quotes we received. We ultimately choose them because they were especially more professional. They showed up on time every morning and cleaned up every evening before they left. Rob and his crew were able to schedule the work quickly after we decided to move forward and they worked very efficiently as we were able to see progress each day. In a little over 8 weeks they completely renovation our basement into the dream entertainment and hang out area that we desired. They also matched the quality and looks of the main floor of our house (Columns, cabinets, baseboards and paint) to the basement so it’s seamless in design when going from upstairs to downstairs, which really kept my wife happy. MAK was very responsive with Rob giving us regular updates, and allowing us to make minor changes throughout the project. We felt very comfortable throughout the entire process. I found the work to be of high quality with good attention to detail. It’s been a few months since completion and everything continues to look and work great. I think they went above and beyond on a few elements that others would have nickel and dimed us on. They took our ideas and executed them even better than I had hoped! M.A.K Remodeling just finished my dream project. From beginning to the end Rob and his team were very professional and did an excellent job. Their suggestions and expertise were greatly appreciated. Each days clean up was amazing! I now have beautiful entryway with new front door, an amazing master suite with a master bathroom and walk-in closet and my 16 year old son has his junior suite with walk in closet and full bathroom! I am a business owner in the service industry and have had bad experience with other contractors . MAK was professional and provided everything I needed to make the best selection for my deck project. Love the work and will not hesitate to use them again.

Very professional and good follow up. They were flexible to help us reach our design goal and price point and the team was courteous on site, especially considering we had 2 young kids at home during the project.

We hired M.A.K. to finish our basement, ~1500 SF. The project consisted of a bedroom with an egress window, bathroom, relocation of a wet bar from upstairs, with the rest of the basement open for recreation and tv area. We worked directly with Rob, the owner, from the start of the project to the finish. After taking initial measurements at the house, we met again for a design meeting at their office where we got to see a 3D rendering of the basement. The project started in late September with an initial kickoff meeting at the house between myself, Rob, two MAK master carpenters (he had two on the job till framing was done 3 days later), plumber and electrician. We walked through the hole basement to make sure everyone was on the same page. After the first week, Jim (the lead MAK master carpenter) and his assistant Casey where here for the duration of the project till it’s completion in early December. Plumbing, electrician, sheetrock and painting were outsourced by MAK. Rob stops by the site every week to check on things, and would meet with me at times as the project progressed. We really enjoyed working with them, and would use them again.

We had our first encounter with MAK four years ago when they completely redone our bathrooms. At the end of the four year period, we are still extremely satisfied with both bathrooms! Everything looks good and the insulation is just awesome! So when it was time for more renovation, guess who we called? Yes! MAK! It has been over a year since they gave us a new kitchen and sunroom that are just amazing! They redid the kitchen replacing it with hardwood floors, new counter tops, and cabinets. Needless-to-say, it didn't look lie the same kitchen! Now the sunroom is a master piece! It was originally a screen-in porch. They had to completely come up with a design and look. And they did it! Everyone who sees it, loves it (including me)! Along with the kitchen and sunroom, they replaced the roof. The last project that MAK fixed was our barn. It was in dire need of painting and board replacement. Yeap! They did that, too! Now we have a shiny red and white barn that can weather the storm. So, if you need any home improvements, MAK is your resource!

MAK provide our office (Elephas Engineering) with a complete renovation from the planning phase until the keys were tuned over. They were extremely helpful with providing design support and extremely knowledgeable in assisting with the material selection. The construction was on schedule and as professional as they come. I will use them for all of our renovations moving forward.

After a long search for someone to redo my fireplace and after my husband tried to do it himself, I had MAK come in and finish the job. Rob is great. He is very detail oriented, communicates well and seems to be pretty easy going. I’m happy with my fireplace and plan on having them do several more projects at my home.

MAK Remodeling did several different projects for us including a full bathroom re-model (moving plumbing and electrical) and re-doing hookups for our laundry room. They were extremely easy to work with and always really responsive. Their team was professional, gave us honest advice about our project, and ultimately the work they did was beautiful and finished on time. We ended up having an issue with the plumbing in the bathroom and they handled that crisis quickly and completely. We will definitely use them again for future projects and would highly recommend them.

I can only speak on the lack of customer service I experienced. I called this company over a week ago to get a simple quote to finish a media room in the basement of the house that we’re having built. The lady named Aprol seemed nice enough, but I had to do a lot of explaining regarding what we were looking to have done. It’s a simple job, but she seemed really confused as to what I was explaining/asking. To make it easier, I sent her the exact blueprint of the basement and room we were looking to have completed. She advised I would get a quote in a matter of 24 hours. It’s been over a week and still no quote. I called her back to follow up, she said someone would contact me. Surprise, Surprise...still no follow up or quote. If this is how they treat customers, looks like they did us a favor.

MAK made us feel comfortable. We told them exactly what we wanted and what our budget was. MAK finished our basement within our budget and within the timeframe that they provided at our pre/construction meeting. MAK was professional throughout our process. We are very pleased with our finished basement. We would recommend MAK for any job large or small.

MAK Remodeling Services did a phenomenal job! They converted a portion of our garage to a mud room moving all of the plumbing, adding a door, installing heating and AC, installing a hardwood floor including molding, added electrical outlets and lighting, and painted the entire area. The next project was a complete remodel of our master bathroom. They removed the Jacuzzi and shower, moved the plumbing, installed new plumbing and Italian tile, added electrical outlets and lighting, and painted/stained the whole room. Their attention to detail is phenomenal. Our tech, Wayne, who was the lead on both Projects wanted to ensure, that we were thoroughly happy with the end product. Perfection was his motto. Kudos to Rob and his team! You won't be sorry if you hire them for your Project!

Rob Talkington and MAK did two jobs for me in the Spring of 2016 to help sell my house. MAK created a great room in my basement, and two small rooms: a laundry/utility room, and a water closet (without adding fixtures to the existing bathroom rough-in). There was no undue noise, loud music, or horseplay among the crew - they were professionals. There were no problems with subs and no problems with inspections. They followed my instructions and honored my requests. They were clean, and they finished on time. When he came over to talk to me and to measure the space, Rob gave me ideas for things I hadn't thought of but which turned out to be essential. (It was amazing that through the horrid mess of my basement he could see the finished project.) The initiative he took in offering his own thoughts on the project turned out to be the reason I chose MAK over three other contractors. Later, MAK did some erosion control and created a retaining wall on the side of my house, which is just feet away from a steep hill. We'd already moved across the country when the buyer's inspector required this, so Rob set up the job remotely. Again, there were no problems, and the buyer was pleased with the result. If I still lived in Southern Maryland, I would hire MAK and Rob Talkington again. Rob is pretty low-key, not high-pressure. He didn't try to sell us things we didn't want. He is a good communicator, as is his office staff. I recommend him and MAK whole-heartedly.

Bathroom remodel project From start to finish, the MAK team was a pleasure to work with. You always had a quick response when you needed to talk to someone regarding the project. They work with you on the best design for your space and your budget. The materials they use are of very good quality. I would definitely recommend them and will use their services again.

M.A.K. Construction Services made the process of renovating our kitchen very easy and without the stress and worry that we expected. Rob and his team are great to work with. The communication with the office kept us up to date on what to expect. The project was done on time and within the budget scope that was presented. M.A.K. Construction Services completed a full renovation of my 2-level condo in an extremely efficient and professional manner. Clear and realistic expectations on timing and price were explained at the beginning of the process and open communication during the process made for an overall smooth and excellent experience. I hired MAK in 2014 to update my bathroom I was very happy with the quality of their work, so I hired them again in 2015 to power wash and stain my deck; some boards needed replacing and my shed needed work; again I was very happy with their work and would hire them again should the need arise. The work was at estimate and jobs were on time.

M.A.K. Construction Services were hired to remodel our basement. They removed the old paneling, stairs, carpet, light fixtures, and cleaned up everything as they progressed. The workers were very polite, consistently on time and worked a full day each day. They installed all new walls, stairs, railing, carpet, outlets, lighting, doors and of course paint. They also remodeled the existing powder room with all new fixtures, lighting and vents. We are very pleased with the results of the remodel and absolutely love our new basement! Selecting MAK Construction for this project was definitely one of the best decisions we’ve made. They did a great job!

We hired MAK to put our finished basement back together after tearing it apart for the installation of French drains. MAK reframed walls, repaired drywall, built closets, re-tiled a tub stall, painted, fixed an air duct, installed a new heating vent, refinished the ceiling, and laid a new luxury vinyl floor. All the work was completed relatively quickly and on budget with the estimate. The crew was willing to answer questions and at the end of the job when I found a couple of things that weren't quite done, MAK sent someone out to complete the work, no questions asked. They even took delivery of the flooring materials at their office while we were on vacation. All in all a good, solid job.
