RK Design just finished my co-op renovation in Kew Gardens. I could not be happier with my experience with them. Our renovation approval process was an excruciating 5 months. To say it was a nightmare dealing with my management is an understatement, but Michael (who handles operations) was absolutely amazing. He is extremely versed in all of the paperwork (there is a TON), and rules and regulations specific to NYC co-ops. This is an area that a lot of other contractors are lacking in. One of my favorite parts about working with them is the fact that they work with their own cabinet makers that make whatever cabinets you'd want to the exact measurements of your kitchen. Micheal will provide you with a few 3D renderings to choose from. Was an awesome experience! Once our renovation was finally approved the renovation was smooth and finished on time. I'm so happy with our results! Ryan was the project manager for our renovation and he was great! Always listened to our wants and did a wonderful job. We did an extensive renovation including kitchen, bath, floors and electrical.Everything turned out great! Another thing I really appreciated about them is that they never tried to upsell us. I found other contractors would suggest a million things rather than listen to what we wanted. Michael is definitely not like that. He's also very calm, which is especially nice when partaking in such a stressful endeavor. I can't recommend them more! Don't hesitate

Michael and Ryan run an amazing and professional full-service contracting firm. From the first time I spoke with them, I knew I was dealing with true craftsmen. My wife and I did a total gut Reno of our 1939 coop and were blown away by the meticulous detail and care that was put into their work. The project was scheduled to take ~8-10 weeks, they completed it just under 8 weeks. My wife and I are immensely happy wit the completed project.

RK was recommended to us by a friend when we were starting our apartment gut reno, and we are so grateful because from start to finish, working with Michael, Ryan and the team was so easy and quick. I contacted RK Design on Houzz due to their excellent reviews, and now that they’ve completed the renovation I requested, I figured I’d add another (well-deserved) excellent review to the list! I recently purchased a tiny 1-bed co-op apartment in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, NY, and wanted some “minor” renovations made prior to move in (sand & revarnish all wood floors, paint all walls and ceilings, reglaze tub & regrout all bathroom tile, remove all old two-prong electrical outlets & add a 3 prong outlet). RK Design handled all of my questions and requests with ease — no small feat, considering I had a LOT of questions as a first time homebuyer, new to NYC and with zero renovation or handyman experience! Michael & Ryan were responsive, detail-oriented, and thorough. They knew how to handle my co-op managing agent with ease and their team was very respectful of the co-op’s rules. The work done was of high quality and even more amazingly, completed on time and within budget estimates. We used RK recently to remodel an apartment and it was a fantastic process from beginning to end. Michael spent a lot of time going over our plans, before we had even made a deposit, ensuring a smooth process once work started. His attention to detail was a great help while we finalized what we wanted to do, and he was accommodating when we changed plans several times. Once work started Ryan and his team did the job very well and within the original timeline, which was shorter than we expected. He and his team showed up every day and any delays were only caused if some parts that came in were damaged or delayed in shipping. Ryan was also great at helping us understand what was possible as well as what would work well. He also had great attention to detail, spotting problems we missed and fixing them quickly. He was also extremely responsive and very courteous - my building's staff got along great with Ryan and the team. Our project came in at the originally agreed-upon budget, and the whole process was very much unlike some of the horror stories we have heard with other contractors. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend RK to anyone looking to do any sort of renovations.

I hired RK Design via a good friend’s recommendation to renovate a very old kitchen. The entire team from the initial phone call to the very end end was an absolute delight to work with. I was walked through all the steps and was given clear and constant communication throughout the entire process. Michael and Ryan were great with providing reassurance on any of my concerns when I asked for it. They were patient and thorough with my lack of knowledge on all things construction and the complexities of dealing with supers in old NYC CoOp buildings.
