We recently completed a significant home renovation and we couldn’t be happier with our experience and the work that Marta Layton provided throughout the entire project. After a considerable amount of online research and a handful of somewhat frustrating interviews with several other “full service” companies, we decided to take a different approach for our renovation project and we hired Marta with Sunday Morning Kitchen and Bath. At first glance, Marta’s services were “only” the design portion of the project. However, after meeting with her in person at our home, watching her nearly instantaneously create the “as is” floorpan of our home and speaking with several of her existing clients, we learned and ultimately experienced first hand that SMKB provides significant value beyond just the design component. Marta’s design process is well organized and done in person following her detailed preparation. She provides several planned 1-2 hour interactive sessions where she brings her prepared design from our feedback and collaboratively makes real time updates and changes that we discuss during the session. She is an expert listener and quickly translates our discussion into desired outcomes nearly real time. Additionally, through this process, several trips to materials locations were scheduled where she enabled us to efficiently narrow our selections - we were never left with the common overwhelming feeling that invariably comes with the decision making process of which materials to choose for the desired outcome. More than just a designer, Marta’s end to end engagement provided us with a comprehensive and owner friendly approach that enabled us to move forward with confidence and tackle the unknowns that we were bound to encounter. We were provided with excellent resource trade professionals to choose from, expert materials resources, appropriate timing of orders/project steps and ongoing suggestions that enabled us to stay on target with the vision. Ultimately we felt these activities were beyond our expected scope of the highly effective design sessions. We found that no matter what stage of the project we were in or what the challenge we faced, Marta happily stepped back in and offered solutions and assistance that enabled us to navigate the path forward. From the first meeting to the last photo shoot of the completed project, Marta was energetic, highly engaged and responsive to every aspect of the work. She is solution oriented and leverages her years of broad industry experience to put concerns and challenges into the appropriate perspective that helped us successfully navigate our home renovation. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Marta and we're thrilled with the end result!

After coming home from vacation to a major bathroom leak (that ended up in two adjoining bedrooms!!!) we decided to remodel our entire house. We had the great fortune to be paired with Marta from Sunday Morning Kitchen and Bath. A true professional in every sense of the word, Marta immediately jumped in by making precise measurements of our kitchen and quickly provided state of the art renderings of what our kitchen could look like - and we tried a number of variations of color, granite counter tops, appliances - you name it. She always accommodated our changes and when asked, provided keen insight to design issues based on her many other projects. This was a Godsend for us as we may not have the best design eye and know all the latest in options. She definitely does! We were so pleased with her work on our kitchen that we had her design our two bathrooms, living room and even the laundry room! I can't say enough how important it was for us to see ahead of time what we were trying to accomplish. It gave us great confidence moving ahead in what will be a great investment into the value of our home. If you want to work with a pleasant, caring design professional, you cannot go wrong working with Marta!

Marta is a rare gem! We spent a few months trying to find a designer. Even paid one and it did not go well. When we found Marta we were very worried we were going to have another bad experience but she has been the complete opposite! She has thought of things we never would have thought about. Knows exactly who we need to meet. Gave us a ton of advice on our remodel. Came up with designs that never even occurred to us. She goes out of her way to make sure you are happy. I cannot imagine going through this process with anyone else. Our house is going to be amazing and it is all because of the vision of Marta. She has natural talent for design and the know how for a perfect design. Using 3D rendering to show you exactly how it is going to look. She brought the colors we thought we would like but challenged us with a few that we would have never choose and they look amazing together. Technical know how plus natural talent makes her a rare package. Icing on the cake she is a pleasure to work with and helps you navigate selections at other show rooms. I love her confidence in her design and her knowledge of the products. I would say in many cases she knows more than the people on the showroom floors!

I hired Marta just before Thanksgiving Week due to a flood in our kitchen and we met for her to review the job site. Not only was she able to accommodate my new kitchen design quickly, she went above and beyond to create the perfect plan and get it to me before Thanksgiving. Using my design inspiration, I feel like she captured our dream kitchen and we were able to get this plan to our insurance contractors timely. They couldn't believe I could get a design to them that barely needed tweaking by the carpentry crew and within the short time allotted and budget! This experience was so seamless that I chose to hire Marta for the appliance and material selections. She helped select paint and glaze colors for the cabinetry and traveled to several locations with me where we found affordable but gorgeous options in countertops, appliances, faucets, and cabinet hardware. She transposed all of this into a written floorpan where I could visually see the design plan and contractors could have instructional content for everything from countertop edging, faucet and knob placement, and appliance models with measurements. This was at a personal cost for me outside of insurance, but the money I saved and the quality that I was able to obtain for the same price or slightly more, allowed me to have a gorgeous customized luxury kitchen. I couldn't be happier with the kitchen plan that will be executed in the next two weeks and highly recommend Marta for any kitchen and cabinetry service you might require!

I love this kitchen, which combines beauty and style with function. I follow Marta Layton's designs, for she has a unique sensibility of how to take her clients' aesthetics, needs, and budget and then transform them into a vision they never knew they had! This holiday season, I'm enjoying the new kitchen Marta created for me in 2023. I wanted it to complement the post-World War II origins of our 75 year-old home, while offering us modern amenities and comfort. I love seeing how Marta comes up with unique designs for every home and every client! The more I live in our newly renovated house, the more I admire her vision and design. Guests are as amazed as I am at the beauty of the new kitchen and beth. Marta's attention to detail makes it all so functional as well. Every time I think, "Wouldn't it be great if there were an electrical outlet here?", I find one exactly where I need it. Our new primary bedroom and bath are not only stunning, but designed to help us age in place, even if we face temporary or permanent disability. Aging parents and family appreciate that as well when they visit. Finally, Marta treated our budget and allowances as if she were spending from her own pocket. She understood our priorities, and helped us budget and make selections accordingly. Marta transformed not only our home but our lives.

Marta is an exceptional designer! She worked with us on a large project that included an in-law suite addition and a large outdoor space with an outdoor kitchen, patio, fireplace, etc. She took the time to understand our vision and found a way to make it work in our space. She made many renderings for us and was always willing to go back to the drawing board when we weren’t sure what to do or if we hit a snag during production. She is very organized and methodical in her process and has a “get things done” mentality. Very grateful for her knowledge of design, ADA, and attention to detail for our project!

Marta did an amazing job. From the first meeting and throughout the whole design process she was always there with great ideas and recommendations. It is rare these days you get what you want. Marta not only delivered what she promised, but she went above and beyond. Will definitely recommend and work with her again.
