My kitchen renovation is gorgeous, turning out even better than I expected! Mike Schmidt is a master carpenter with a low-key and very pleasant personality, and was someone with whom I could easily communicate. He is a gem. His professionalism is impressive. There are myriad decisions in a kitchen "reno;" deciding on an overall design, and choosing cabinetry, granite, hardwood-flooring, backsplash, and appliances. He stayed " right there" by my side to assuage my anxiety and help me to make excellent decisions. Walls were taken down and cut-outs made to open up the kitchen and dining room area, making one huge and functional space 12' x 24'. Mike employs two assistants, Jake and Mondo, and I cannot say enough about them, either. They were hardworking, respectful, and personable. All the work was finished to perfection. I highly recommend Vimish Cabinetry/Mike Schmidt and his team.

We waited 17 years to do our kitchen the right way and not do it half the way from what we really wanted. When we first started out we brought in 7 kitchen contractors ranging from the most popular and known to small contractors. We asked everyone to independently give us a design and for one reason or another nobody met our standards. After a 4 month search, we finally found the perfect Kitchen designer. Mike Schmidt at Vimish Kitchens not only gave us the perfect kitchen, but he is very reasonably priced as well. Vimish helped us every step of the way and made excellent recommendations which turned out to be spot on. Mike is extremely patient and open minded to giving us what we wanted. Vimish also converted our first floor into a modern open concept that turned out amazing. We couldn't be any happier with the way everything turned out. Mike designed our dream kitchen from a far. It was all based on pictures and our measurements that we sent. He completed the project in record time even with some adjustments needed due to our poor measuring. He was the ultimate cool collected professional and every person that sees his craftsmanship is amazed.

We hired Mike to put in our dream kitchen. Starting with design, his flexibility to listen to what we wanted and then make the design happen. The whole kitchen was custom and Mike did an outstanding job making it come together. Even two years after it has been put in new people to our house marvel at the beauty and craftsmanship. I am so lucky to have found this company! I love my new kitchen and bathroom! They are beautiful! The cabinetry and workmanship are excellent! They were reliable and trustworthy! Mike, the owner, was excellent and extremely helpful with the design and planning phase. He is quite talented. Giving guidance and suggestions where needed. The demolition and rebuilding phase was pretty much painless! They accommodated the whole family including two very old pets living in the house during construction.

My husband and I were looking for a trustworthy contractor to remodel our kitchen. It had been 30 years since our last kitchen remodel and we knew that it was going to be a TOTAL redesign. A friend recently had her kitchen and dining room remodeled beautifully; therefore, based on her excellent recommendation, we were confident in contacting Mike Schmidt of Vimish Cabinetry and Design. During the remodeling process, we found that Mike's integrity, great listening skills and flexibility made it very easy to work with him. His expertise was evident in every aspect of the remodeling job. In addition, Mike's design was innovative in finding a solution to a traffic flow issue which previously existed in our kitchen. His kindness, patience, and suggestions in assisting us with the selection of cabinets, counter, back-splash, lighting, etc., made the remodeling process a very calming and positive experience. Everyone who has seen our kitchen admires the new design and superb craftsmanship. We are extremely thrilled with the efficiency and beauty of our "new" kitchen THANKS TO MIKE.

All I can say is "wow". Vimish Cabinetry & Design did an amazing job with my kitchen, powder room and family room renovation. I could not be happier. The three rooms occupy one large space across the back of my house and now flow perfectly together. For the kitchen, we were limited by the structure of the house and the location of the powder room, so without having to make any major changes to the physical space, Mike created a design that close to tripled my cabinet and counter space. He has a great eye for ways to maximize the space available. So even though there are more cabinets and counters, it actually feels and looks bigger. He made the most of every inch and converted useless space into productive areas. I actually have a cabinet with nothing in it (yet). I was able to move things that were on the counters and stored in my basement/garage to the kitchen cabinets so they are easier to access and not cluttering the counters. There were a couple of things he recommended that I was not sure about, but he asked me to trust him - which I did - and he was right about everything. One area in particular was removing a pantry closet and replacing it with a pantry cabinet with slide out shelves. I was worried that it I would lose space, but in reality, while physically smaller, there is much more usable space that is easier to access. For the family room, he designed built-ins to take the place of a couple of pieces of furniture. The wall has a traditional fireplace in the middle and the space on either side was not symmetrical. That was no problem for Mike. With his design, you can't tell the two sides are different. The new look is more transitional so he also updated the fireplace to make whole look work together. In addition to an amazing design, Mike helped me through the entire selection process including cabinets, counters, backsplash, hardware, light fixtures and more! He promised he would not let me make a mistake and he kept that promise. Mike is also very patient and meticulous with amazing attention to detail. There were a couple of unexpected things that did not work out the way he had planned them. He was not willing to compromise on the agreed upon design so rather than accepting things as they were - he found ways to make them work. Having the heart of your home upside down for an extended period of time can be a little unnerving. Mike was able to work around things to minimize the disruption as much as possible. He and his assistants spent at least 1/2 hour every day before they left cleaning up - always respectful of the fact that this was our home. Last but not least, the final bill from Vimish was exactly as estimated. It was an all-inclusive price. The only things I purchased separately were the granite counter, tile backsplash, sinks, faucets and appliances. The materials were not included in the estimate but the installation was, so I was able to select exactly what I wanted without impacting the final price. I would absolutely recommend Vimish Cabinetry and Design to anyone!

The kitchen upgrade created for us by Vimish Cabinetry is excellent. Not only is Mike a very fine craftsman, he’s the nicest person you could have in your home. He guided us through all the details involved in ripping out an ugly outdated kitchen and creating a beautiful new one right down to the knobs on the cabinets. Because we opted for cherry cabinets with glass doors, he asked us to visit his home so we could see the effect of light on the cherry wood and also see the textured glass he thought we would like. Mike creates as little disruption in the family’s routine as possible. At the end of each workday, he completely cleaned up before leaving. He was amazingly respectful of us and our home. We were happy to have him back recently to install a replacement microwave. An example of his attention to detail: when the time came to install the handmade tiles that included a number of decorative pieces, he asked where the small appliances and canisters would be placed in order to be certain those special tiles would be in view. Fourteen years later, we are still 100% pleased with our ‘new’ kitchen!

Mike Schmidt transformed our original 1970’s kitchen into an updated, fabulous kitchen along with installing beautiful hardwood floors throughout the first floor. Mike actually listened to our ideas and concerns. He guided us through the entire process of choosing cabinets, countertops, backsplash and cabinet hardware. He is very conscientious, considerate and is easy to work with. The cabinet quality is top-notch and his attention to detail and workmanship is superb.
