About Us
My name is Ava Blum. Ava Gardener was a
natural derivative given my love to garden and
to watch films. Ava Gardner was quite the actress.
Some of her film performances are legendary.
I had my first home and garden in 1990 in Oakland , California. My plant knowledge grew from visiting nurseries and enrolling in the landscape horticulture program at Merritt College. My garden, along with my neighbors' and friends' gardens flourished. Ava Gardener naturally followed.
I relocated to Santa Fe in 1994 and Ava Gardener Landscape Studio officially opened for business. A learning curve on plant material was shortened by attending Santa Fe Junior College's plant identification classes, visiting nurseries and having great clients. Two of my gardens were selected for the Santa Fe Botanic Garden Tour. My clients were mainly residential homes, condos and gallery owners.
Services Provided
I enjoy designing residential homes, and also worked with art galleries and commercial offices. For me, no job is too small though budgets need to be realistic for the vision. I work with Higher Ground Landscapes, landscape contractors. The client would employ them directly.
