In early July I noticed my in ground sprinkler system had one sprinkler that was leaking. I had zero problems with my sprinkler system working. They were working prior to Drakes's 7 Dees performing any work. I called around and all other irrigation contractors were unavailable until late September or October. Drakes's 7 Dees said they can perform the work on August 9th and quoted $1200.00 to install a backflow preventer device which was required by the City of Gresham. Drakes's 7 Dees said they couldn't do any other work until a backflow device was installed. Again this was early July. On August 8th the day before the installation the director of the irrigation department showed up to see if the work can be done. While he was here he also said he needed to have locators come out and mark where all underground pipes and wires are located. He also wanted to do the whole yard. This postponed the job even longer. About two hours later he called me on the phone and told me the quote of $1200.00 was wrong and it should be $2200.00. I asked why and he said it was because of oil prices and they forgot to update the new cost. I felt pressured because time was against me. About a week later the technician showed up to do the work. He was a nice guy but seemed lost in some areas. He dug out a huge hole for these two huge irrigation boxes to be installed. It was only after he dug out the dirt that he decided to see if he had water. He couldn't so he started twisting the sprinkler solenoid. When he finished the job of installing the backflow device he still couldn't get the system working he said he had to leave for another job and that I needed to reschedule him coming out to finish the job. He also left me with two wheel narrows full of dirt and said he hope I had a place for it. Again another week before he returned. When he couldn't figure out the problem another technician showed up to help and I was charged an additional $150.00 an hour for him. They stated the master value solenoid valve was bad. I thought it us amazing my system was working before they started work and how could that be in the master valve wasn't working. I also asked if he could straighten out the irrigation box he installed since it was crooked with the yard. He tried but it is still crooked. There were three other 6 inch round sprinkler boxes that he dug up. When he replaced them he just crammed them around the valves instead of centering the valves within. I figured that this must be Drakes's 7 Dees quality work. The crooked box and the round 6 inch valve boxes not installed in order. The system still did not work correctly. Now my lawn was basically dead. I then called again to reschedule getting the system working and asked for a different technician. When he arrived a few days later the system finally got working. I contacted Drake's 7 Dees after losing a lot of plants in the ice storm of 2021. Two areas needed new plants, and I wanted to take out the back lawn because it didn't get enough sun. I worked with Sue Hicks who was able to blend new plants into the existing 40 year old landscaping. She also suggested adding plants to fill in some empty spaces, and that has made the yard look finished. The result is beautiful. My 2 acre wooded lot has a park like setting. It was a pleasure to work with Sue. She listened, thoroughly explained her ideas, adjusted the plans to suit me, and always answered my emails promptly. I also have high praise for Drake's 7 Dees Landscaping for supplying beautiful plant material and making sure that everything is done right.

Our backyard is very small, but overlooks a golf course. We wanted to re-do our patio, add new patio space and build a patio cover. We were not sure the cover could be done under the local ordinance restrictions. We spoke to several different firms about the project, but Chris Dara from Drake's was the only designer we felt understood our needs and took the time to create our vision. He did a wonderful job orchestrating the work, and he worked with our local government to ensure we could have a covered patio area built. The project turned out wonderfully, and our small space feels so much more comfortable and looks beautiful.

We worked with Chris Dara for our project. After interviewing multiple groups, we chose to go with Chris at Drakes 7 Dees. Chris was the only one who took the time to explain how he utilizes the existing architecture of the home to influence his landscape design. He put together and amazing plan for both our front and back yard, he was very open to our feedback, and made a couple revisions to ensure we received the plan we wanted. He communicated well (most of what we did was through email) and was ALWAYS on time for site visits, plan reviews, and other meetings. I would recommend talking to him before you make any final decisions with who you choose for your projects.

Chris was wonderful! Very accommodating! He listened carefully and adjusted based on what we wanted; he contributed creatively on everything. We are very pleased and have had innumerable unsolicited positive comments from just about everybody in the neighborhood.

We hired Drake's to turn our woodland forest lot into a more park-like sanctuary with more color and interest, while still keeping it natural. Our designer and project manager, Steven Kurvers, did a fantastic job of taking our input and creating a plan to deliver that. Our construction manager, Juan Chavoya, was great in communicating the schedule, keeping us informed, and following up to make sure the work aligned with the plan and our expectations. After working with many different contractors in different disciplines over the years, my experience with Drake's was definitely one of the best. We love our new landscape!

Our designer, Chris D., did a wonderful job converting our narrow backyard into additional living space for our home. He created from what was once an awkwardly spaced area, a beautiful, serene, and welcoming space that our family now enjoys. He worked with us on our project to hear what rough ideas we had, reimagined them and brought them to life with this project. The final product was better than we had imagined. Thanks Chris!

We are delighted with the work we received from Drake's on our outdoor pavilion. Creativity on the design was first-rate and construction is very high quality indeed. This project garnered both design and build awards from Oregon Home Magazine for architect Christopher Dara and Drake's 7 Dees. It also was featured in a Seattle-based design magazine. We worked with Drake's crews and several subcontractors under their leadership. All were professional, friendly and accomplished. As with all custom projects, it took longer and cost more than we initially projected, but the results are spectacular and speak for themselves. It has added a stunning new dimension to our outdoor living space and our modern home.

Chris D. was our designer/project manager. He did an outstanding job taking our ideas and dreams and developing design drawings. He communicated very well with us during the entire project (project lasted from initial design in the Spring of 2017 to finishing construction in the Fall of 2017). Chris communicated via email and was on the job site frequently. He is very professional and easy to work with. He always listened to our conceptual ideas and converted them into definitive solutions. During design Chris showed us countless photos and examples of ideas and materials. We would give Chris an "A+" and plan on bringing him back to do more. The construction crew was led by Ivan. Ivan and his crew were great at communicating clearly with us and were always punctual, and worked exceptionally hard, dawn to dusk. Ivan and his crew created a stone patio, a rock and stone fire pit and sitting wall that are works of art. It is better than we could have dreamed of. Ivan and his crew were always friendly, professional, had an incomparable work ethic, and a can-do attitude. Ivan and his team have worked together for quite a while and their long term relationship showed in their craftsmanship and teamwork. We would give Ivan and his team an "A+" as well. Ivan and his team earned the nickname "Michelangelo" for their creativity and artistic touch. We would highly recommend Drake's 7 Dees, in particular Chris and Ivan and his team. We look forward to working with Chris and Ivan (and his team) in 2018 for work on our front yard. Thank you for bringing our 20 year old dream to reality. We landscaped our front lawn (900 sq ft) for our daughter's wedding. We were very pleased how the project was completed on time and beautifully designed. We added an iron moon gate as the arbor and were very pleased with the hardscape (brick stairs) going up to the arbor. The project manager and workers were very professional and easy to work with.

After doing quite a lot of research, I settled on Drake's 7 Dees to manage our landscaping project. I liked their portfolio online as well as the positive reviews and reputation for solid service. I actually went to the office in person to speak with someone and was very pleased by how friendly and personable everyone was. Our landscape architect, Steven, called me within a couple of days to set up a meeting. He was fantastic. He was so flexible with timing (even willing to meet later in the day to accommodate my husband's schedule), responsive to my requests for changes and had great vision to transform our mud pit of a backyard into lovely space for our growing family. I also liked how creative he was with cost-cutting when we wanted to scale back a bit. So helpful! I really appreciated how organized and efficient the entire process was; from the planning questionnaire to the multiple plans with print outs of planned plantings. It was so thorough! When it came time for the work to be done, the site manager Raul was amazing. He called me whenever there was a change of schedule and made sure to check in with me frequently if there was any question about the process. Overall, I was thrilled with the process and overjoyed with the results. We get compliments from all of our guests on how charming our yard is!
