Rob Akroyd and his Greylock Design Associates were our expert guides and advisors when we worked with them to choose a site in the woods to build our log home. They are a talented group of professionals who sited our home, designed our driveway and had a hand in many aspects of our project. Rob's connections in the communities he services were helpful and excellent. Our experience with Greylock was so pleasant, we continue to call on them for a variety of reasons. Rob Akroyd worked on our behalf overtime. He went to the Conservation Commission prepared to present his plan for our driveway, had a conversation with a woman he realized owned property bordering ours and struck a deal. She sold us a dry strip of her property to create our driveway. We saved a lot of money and felt better about not disturbing a wetland. We love to give his name out when friends ask for a recommendation.

Great job done on re-building wall by lake. Planned the job and completed permitting in a difficult political environment and problematic construction site. Hired excellent contractors to do the work. Completed on schedule. Also we had to re-grade driveway for run-off issues and he was very helpful. Created a wonderful rain garden. Very approachable and available as issues arose.

Rob Akroyd and his colleagues at Greylock Design Associates were absolutely tremendous to work with. We had a challenging project ahead of us with the removal of a public art sculpture on campus. Rob re-thought the site, listening to our needs as well as the desires of the artist. The new site allows for the sculpture to be the focus with minimized plantings of grasses. The Goshen stone benches and pavers Rob designed allow for a variety of seating options and viewing perspectives. The new pathways are meandering and more inviting. I am very grateful to have worked with Rob, who was always responsive and very good with creative solutions that kept our project on budget. The artist is thrilled with the new landscaping, as are we, which is a testament to Rob's vision.

I purchased 40 acres in the Berkshires in 2005 that enabled me to both build a home, and develop some building lots. I knew I would need expert guidance, because we had much more than simply building code considerations. We had serious environmental issues, because we have streams, and a large pond as the center-piece of the property. The importance of keeping the pristine beauty of this fantastic piece of land was paramount. I was fortunate that my broker recommended Greylock Design. Under the guidance of Rob Akroyd, and his able staff, we had to deal with planning, conservation commission questions and approvals, board of health concerns, and numerous other issues. I learned very quickly that Rob' instincts and expertise were invaluable. We have worked on a number of these projects for 7 years now. Our house is perfect. We have developed and sold some lots, and, with Rob's guidance, I am planning to build another house on the property. The fact that we have been able to do this and been able to maintain the integrity of the property (which was always the driving force) is a testament to Rob's vision. I highly recommend Rob to anyone thinking of building, or in any way developing their property.

Greylock Design presented us a completely re-designed look for front of our house and driveway. The plan was implemented and it is fabulous. The plan solved problems we had and looks absolutely beautiful. They worked well with the businesses with which we had long-standing relationships although could have provided contacts for those jobs if we needed them. All in all it was a great experience working with them and we wouldn't hesitate to work with them again on new projects.
