Enchanting Planting

I first hired Enchanting Planting to remodel my back yard in 2013. I had seen many of their beautiful landscaping projects at other homes in my town. I was so happy with the process and the finished product, I again hired Enchanting Planting to remodel my front yard in 2014. For both projects, I was highly impressed with the creative designs (and variety of designs) Richard Sullivan developed. He created visual computer models/designs to help me imagine what the finished product would look like. He spent a great deal of time with me, working through variations and ultimately helping me select the best design for my home and family. His team (and subcontractors) did an excellent job (both projects). And he has been very available for questions about/additions to my gardens post-project completion. I will also add that I am so thankful that he strongly encouraged me to put artificial turf in instead of grass; I was very hesitant about this idea initially. But, he showed me other homes that have turf and talked about the wonderful improvements in the turf products. Now that California is in water rationing due to multiple years of drought, I am incredibly happy that my yard is green and I am using a lot less water. I highly recommend Enchanting Planting!

Enchanting Planting significantly enhanced the outcome of our front and backyard remodel. The scope of work included everything from demolition to intricate hardscape to lush landscape overhaul. The husband and wife team provided great suggestions, listened to our views and concerns, and executed in an organized and timely manner. Any requests we had, they figured out how to get done, including bringing in two very large magnolia trees to "mature" our yard. We are very happy with how this project turned out and enjoy spending time in our yard even if it's just to sit and admire the beauty and workmanship.

We used Enchanting Planting for our yard makeover and now for continuing maintenance. We love our yard and it was a pleasure working with Richard, Shari and their crew. Their work is first class and they have great imagination combined with the construction crews to realize the plan. The landscaping is about 2 years old now and the mature plants fit perfectly into the space. From design to installation the process was on time and on budget. We would highly recommend them!

Enchanting Planting has worked on three projects at our home in Orinda and it has been a pleasure to work with Richard, Shari and their crew on every one. Our home posed major challenges (terrible soil, grading, and drainage, sub-code electrical, invasive plants) and their designs and execution have been transformative. They have a fantastic aesthetic, are technically skilled and have a wonderful, reliable crew. We have worked with Richard and Enchanting Planting for the past 5 years on the design, installation and upkeep of our garden which incorporates a water fall, fire pit, arbor, two decks and stone benches and paths. They do amazingly beautiful work and are always professional and responsive to our needs. We have and will continue to recommend their services to others.

We recently built a new home and needed to solve our landscaping dilemma. The area surrounding the house was completely barren and the hilltop location posed some unique challenges. Fortunately, we connected with Richard of Enchanting Planting. The entire process was collaborative, creative and transparent. At the end of the project we had a beautifully landscaped (and drought friendly) home that harmonizes with the surrounding hills. Every day we go out to the sunken patio/fire pit area to bask in the sights and sounds of nature. On the other side of our home, we have a private oasis with a custom designed slate patio and spa area. Additionally, Richard and the team created wonderful hand-hewed rock walls and lighting. During the day, and in the evening, our home is always welcoming. We are so delighted that we had the chance to engage Enchanting Planting and have them work their magic.

Richard Sullivan of Enchanting Planting designed a beautiful landscape plan for our home, including an infinity edge pool, several stone patios, stone pathways and walls, fountains, and an arbor with a stucco and stone fireplace. His choice of planting material (including olive trees, roses and lavender) relate beautifully to the Spanish architecture of our home. Richard has been exceptional at interpreting and executing the vision we have for our yard. He and his entire crew have consistently been on time, on budget, and on task. We are thrilled with our yard, and highly recommend Richard and Enchanting Planting.
