Our experience with Samit was exceptional. His feel and intuition for our specific needs was truly unique. His knowledge of landscape materials was very thorough and his architectural design was well implemented by the landscaper. His follow up throughout the project was timely and professional. I cannot speak highly enough and Samit. I briefly explained to him what I was looking for and he promptly got back to me with a quote. I was still unsure about whether to move forward, but Samit offered to drive half-way across the metroplex the next day to meet with me. He stayed for about an hour and gave me great insight into my upcoming project. He was honest and kind enough to walk me through most of my project and then only try to sell me on a portion of my project, which I will gladly hire him for. He is very knowledgeable and has a great eye.

Samit is very easy to work with and listens! He worked on a design for our back & side yards. We have an incredible tree that shades the back and he made sure all design ideas/concepts worked within the direction our arborist had provided. The design met all the needs we had identified; while exceeding our expectations. Several options were provided - which was nice! The process was smooth and relatively quick and has allowed us to approach installation in phases. Great experience and will use again.

My first priority in moving into our new home was to create a beautiful backyard. The house has large windows overlooking the small private back. Though I had general ideas, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted. I needed a professional to translate my various ideas and visions into something specific and functional. Working with Samit was wonderful! Based on my ideas, he drew up three possible general plans. We went through the development process repeatedly of my saying which of his ideas I liked and which not. He was also very willing to give me feedback and his opinion (kindly) about my ideas – which he thought would and would not work and why. I needed someone like this, with whom I could have a discussion about the evolving plan. I found him always ready for me to ask him another question or make another change. I highly recommend Samit Patel as a landscape architect who can work with clients in a collaborative process to create a design well-suited to their particular situation.

Samit did an amazing job of designing and presenting new landscape plans for our house. He listened to my wants/needs and created a plan specifically for me. I reached out to Samit Patel Design Studio to discuss submitting a backyard design for a new home we just purchased. The home design is quite modern with large windows facing the backyard area. We wanted something visual striking when viewed from the inside and we wanted someone to help us push the design boundaries of what we could accomplish on our own. Samit was very prompt responding to my initial contact and insisted on an initial meeting with both my wife and I at the same time. He felt this was very important so he could listen objectively to what both of us wanted. I felt that this was an astute suggestion based on a lot of experience! Shortly after our initial consultation we formally engaged him to move forward with our project and in a reasonable amount of time Samit had several variations of plans to review with us. What struck me was the diversity of the plans that Samit presented to us. He brought several different visions to the table, certainly things we would have never thought of ourselves. We ended up merging major aspects of two plans to create our final vision. Samit then created a full set of detailed construction plans that included general layout, drainage, planting, lighting etc. After approving the details of each, Samit submitted the plans to four contractors that he had worked with before for bids. He efficiently coordinated the contractor visits around my schedule so he and I could meet with the contractors personally. After reviewing the bids, we selected a contractor and Samit scheduled a kick off meeting. Samit stayed in contact with me and made several trips to our home throughout the project to monitor progress and answer any questions that came up. Samit’s on-hands involvement with the actual project was instrumental to our success and reduced our overall stress level substantially. Samit and our contractor worked great together and the project flowed very smoothly. There is no question that Samit’s detail in the project planning/drawings and his project oversight were of tremendous value and ultimately guaranteed our project’s success. We are delighted in the final product! I happily recommend Samit Patel Design Studio to anyone in need for project design/management and will not hesitate to engage him for any future projects.

Mr. Patel was amazing to work with--he delivered exceptional value! We have a small backyard that we wanted to make more functional and beautiful. After viewing his online portfolio, my biggest concern was whether he was too good for my small project. I am so glad we asked him to design our backyard! He listened very carefully to what my wife and I wanted to achieve with our yard. He pushed us to consider alternatives other landscapers had never even imagined. Once we thought we had the right plan and paid Mr. Patel, he came back a few days later with another concept that was incredible. It will even be cheaper for us to build than the original while being even more functional. We now have a master plan that we can execute in phases to stay within our budget. Our yard is now going to stand out from most other Texas backyards while providing the same outdoor living everyone craves. As a bonus, we have a 2-year-old daughter and Mr. Patel was great around her. If you have a dream, Mr. Patel will help you take it to the next level while staying within whatever budget you have. Amazing work! Samit designed an incredible backyard space, and was involved from start to finish with the project. I really appreciated that he took the time to discuss and explore how I would really use the space before coming up with a design. For example, I wanted a covered structure, but I also have large windows at the rear of my house . Samit was able to come up with a really sharp looking structure, and design around a placement that didn't block the natural light coming into the house. I also really appreciated that he paid attention to my budget, and was able to divide the project into a few phases that could stand alone and still look great, and still be able to expand and add-on over time. I ended up trying to self-manage the project rather than use a general contractor, which came with a lot of unexpected delays, and challenges. Thankfully, Samit was able to make time to communicate and follow up with all the individual contractors (concrete, carpenter, landscaper) and he even traveled to the site several times even though he was not local to my area. After going through this project, I realized that good communication, responsiveness, and flexibility are so important, and yet so hard to find - I can highly recommend SP Design Studio to anyone that is looking for a designer that fulfills all those needs.

After living in my house for 25 years, it was time to landscape the backyard and make a small space inviting while giving it some character. Samit listened to my vision, my preferences in plant and hardscape materials and designed the perfect plan. Samit was very responsive, flexible with my schedule and met at my convenience. He coordinated getting bids and all communication with the landscaping firms and vendors. Mr. Patel was courteous, attentive & a pleasure to work with. My wife & I had a "basic" idea on the work to be performed in our backyard. Mr. Patel went over & above our expectations & supervised the contractors on a daily basis so that all work was completed in a timely manner for our granddaughter's graduation. At the end of the day, the smartest move our family has made so far in 2018 was hiring Mr. Patel to design our backyard addition vs. tackling a project of this magnitude on our own. Although I have several years experience in construction, I would not be able to touch the expertise & precision of work that Mr. Patel designed for our backyard. I would strongly recommend Mr. Patel for to all potential customers. We plan on using Mr. Patel's services later this summer for additional work we have planned for our backyard.
