We bought our property in Haliburton Hills in 1999. Next spring Tony started transforming the untamed woods, with rocky pits and crags, pools of water interspersed with water-table rock, into beautiful gardens - hard-scaping and landscaping as the terrain and the lot required. Since he completed the original project, which included privacy fences and shed, we've had Tony back for enhancements like adding a pond, changing paved areas, putting in a dock, adding a sculpted area in front of the house, etc. Tony and his crew also prepares our property for winter and then again spring. We are delighted to offer this review and recommend Pierce Maritime, which gives nothing but first-rate service.

We have worked with Pierce Maritime for almost ten years. They have completely redesigned our home’s landscaping: building a deck;creating a large slat patio and multiple gardens. They were also able to read and implement our architect’s renovation plans for our entrance and multiple patio doors. They are very knowledgeable regarding plant materials and work very hard to create the feeling we wanted on our property. They are very professional and their staff are without exception very polite and respectful when working with us and on our property. We continue to work with Pierce Maritime and have referred them to many of our friends.

As a landscape designer, I’ve worked with Pierce Maritime Landscaping over the past 19 years. I’ve always admired the attention to detail and the perfectionism the owner applied to the projects. Complicated projects were completed as master pieces. I also appreciated that the owner was a hands-on operator. Therefore, my husband and I decided to hire Pierce Maritime Landscape for our project which I designed and which included the removal of an existing driveway, regrading and laying of pavers, the construction of 2 connected patios, building a low, natural stone wall, the development of new planting beds and the installion of 3 mature trees. (We chose to do our own planting of these beds.). Everything worked out perfectly. Our property is beautiful, functional, great for social gatherings and a draw to nature in the heart of the city. We are very pleased with the workmanship and success of the landscape installation.

We hired Pierce after trying a couple of other landscapers. Pierce arrived on time on the appointed date and stayed true to their estimate. The workers were very courteous and worked very hard from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day, including days with a 38 degree Humidex. I would (and have) recommended them to any person looking for a landscaper. We plan on using their services again next year.

I can without reservation recommend this company. The principle project was the landscaping of the entire property up from the bedrock. It included a large designed garden with no lawn, drainage system, and natural stone work. The stone work included paths, stairs, and a wall, using 17 tones of slate. The quality of all the work was exceptional in every way and has stood the test of time.

They where very knowledgeable and willing to offer suggestions to improve the overall look of our backyard. They do everything themselves and I liked that they took no shortcuts, more work or not they did it right and built it to last. We are very pleased with what they did for us and continue to use them still for any projects that we might have.
