I paint my own reality. The only thing I know is that I paint because I need to, and I paint whatever passes through my head without any other consideration. Frida Kahlo I think Frida Kahlo was the ultimate artist and expressed it best in the quote above. I take photographs because I need to, and I photograph whatever catches my eye and touches my soul. The first time I ever picked up a camera I realized the gift I had been given. We tend to walk through life - one moment to the next, sometimes and often missing life around us or the moments that mean the most to us. As our memories fade or the moment passes; photographs have a way of reminding us how we felt at the moment we took the photograph. They share moments, they share events and most of all they share emotions. The Queer Gallery ~ Once a featured Artist of The Queer Gallery, her work has been called "Distinctive" by Agora Gallery. Wendy Coco is a photographer who specializes in capturing the images of the living world. Born in Maine she first used her camera to capture images of rural living. In 2002 she moved to Western Massachusetts where she began exploring her interest in the arts and in floral photography. As a Social Worker Wendy quickly found a way to combine her love of people and her 20 year experience in housing the homeless to capture the reality of living today. She has been blessed with the opportunity to meet thousands of people around the country who have found themselves struggling under the weight of poverty. Encapsulated in her work are poignant images of individuals who continually work towards survival and seek the basic enjoyment of life. Her work, has also earned her recognition by ArtSlant Showcase and by Apogee Photo Magazine.
