“I had an excellent experience with Outdoor Design! Chris and his team are very dedicated, hard-working, and full of ideas on how to make the most of your backyard. I had gotten a free estimate from Chris when my irrigation company recommended him. I called him to talk about grading my yard before sprinklers were installed, but somehow, 2 months later, we had our backyard oasis completely finished, and had gained an outdoor living room, dining room and kitchen for a fraction of what an actual building addition would have been. Plus, mature trees for added privacy and landscaping Martha Stewart would be envious of! Chris and Dave took my ideas and budget and made what I had envisioned happen. Chris prices out the estimate a la carte; which means that you don't have to do everything right then; I could start the project and add the fireplace later, or the stonewall seating next year... I was able to shave some of the cost by reusing my hydrangeas and buying some of my own shrubs. Mario and the masonry team are some of the hardest working men I've ever met. They would set up tents in the rain just to keep working! The end result is stunning; Two friends have already hired Chris in the last 6 months to build their own dream backyards. What sets Outdoor Design apart from the competition is that they stand by their work. Chris is a lifelong resident of Fairfield (as am I) and knows that reputation is everything. As he says, he wants his customers to be "ecstatic"! He was an absolute pleasure to work with, as was his entire team. “Very professional. Very responsive to phone calls and emails. I had Julie come out and take a look at my yard for a possible patio. She gave me a reasonable quote with ideas on what to do with the patio and the layout. Other people I contacted just came in, said "this is the quote" and left. Julie took the time to say "you dont need this large of a patio, if you do it this big, we can save you money and it will still look great". I also had her come plant some bushes. She gave me a quote on removing the old bushes but said it would be cheaper for me to hire someone who has the machinery to remove the bushes rather than her rent the machine. Having someone who can tell you that gave me the confidence that I know she is looking out for me, and not her bottom line. That is why I am definitely using her for all my landscaping needs.”

“Gary's insight into how to make the most of your property amazes me. He made a few immediate observations about what we/guests see or don't see upon approaching our home, and guided us through a process on how to dramatically improve it. With no direct access to our street from our front door, Gary redesigned our front lawn, carving a serpentine path of unique pavers, and added stone steps to our newly covered front porch and walkway to the curb. He ripped out all of the 40 year old overgrown shrubs from the front lawn and driveway, and replaced them with young and healthy plantings sprinked with lots of colorful trees and flowers. Further, with any visitors formerly only seeing our home from the bottom end of our driveway and the original only point of access, Gary ripped out the deteriorated drive and replaced it with a continuation of the serpentine flow of pavers that now frame the drive and connect to both the new front walkway and a path to our back lawn and pool. We could not recommend anyone or any company more highly!”
