About Us

JEHDesignBuild is a one-person firm. My services range from “handyman” tasks to elegant design solutions. As a retired architect I still enjoy the process of defining a problem, designing a solution, and bringing the design to life. My focus is on small, fussy, and puzzling design problems. Most small projects exist within a larger context. How the part relates to the whole is often essential to a successful outcome. Small projects usually come with unknown issues. My adaptive design-build construction process works because the design evolves as needed during the construction process. I call my approach “Client-centered” because the design solution is based on the needs and desires of the client. I take on only one job at a time to assure continuity and completion within the shortest period of time.
