I have been involved in construction my entire life. I am 60 years old this year. I have built, renovated or remodeled every home I have ever lived in. I am on my seventh home and probably the most unique project I have tackled. My wife and I are doing most of the work on this home. I am a masonry contractor by trade, that was an evolutionary development. After college I apprenticed as a carpenter and got my journeyman's card. I worked for some builders and eventually went out on my own right after I got married and had my first child. I knew I could do better for my family. Fast forward 35 years and I am still in the construction business. I have weathered many storms and adapted to the changes. I found it difficult to hire good quality masons/stone cutters/plasterers and 20 years ago I bought a small masons business to augment my general contracting and quickly found a high demand for our masonry service. We have developed as a custom masonry business specializing in the crafting of thin veneer products. I have developed a good client base and have stayed on the edge of new products and changing trends. We still do smaller general contracting projects primarily to facilitate the veneers we install. My homes over the years reflect where I am, spiritually and practically. When I was in a family way I built a sprawling walk out contemporary ranch style. As my children grew and my life changed personally I went back to my love of the classic American farmhouse. That is where we are at now, my wife and I bought a 130 year old home in a small town in southeastern PA. We are in the center of Amish country and it is an amazing place to be. Much to the chagrin of those who love me I still insist on doing most of the work myself, after almost 40 years in construction I know exactly what I want and I know how to accomplish it.
