Direct Stair Parts

The lack of a customer service phone number on their website should be a red flag. I purchased some parts from their site. The initial order and delivery went fine. However, I discovered that there was a problem with one of the items. I sent them several emails about this but they completely ignored all requests to correct the problem. I had to purchase a replacement from another vendor.

We ordered some stair parts from Direct Stair parts. They were supposed to ship a couple weeks ago and as far as we can tell they have yet to ship. We tried to contact them multiple times via email, phone (the phone number posted on their site is WRONG and goes to a nice lady who said they posted her number and she is constantly getting calls for them), Twitter etc, but 0 response despite multiple attempts. This is VERY disappointing as we have no idea where the parts we ordered are and whether we should cancel the order, or not... Too bad, the parts looked very nice, but the service is terrible.

I can't say enough for the customer service and help I received from Joshua at Direct Stair Parts. We completely messed up our order and he was helpful in getting us the correct material and provided thorough help in order for us to complete our project. Really appreciate the help and the material is top notch!

We decided on a DIY project to replace our 158 wooden balusters with iron ones. A web search of many sites, landed me on Direct Stair Parts. Their sight has a really cool feature that allows you to plan out your design, print is out. I must have printed 10-12 designs before deciding on one we liked, that I could execute with the size balusters we needed, My first contact with Joshua Swenson was an email inquiry if Direct Stair Parts carried 3/4" balusters. He responded that they did not but that the 9/16" balusters should work just fine. After sending him the design and how many total balusters we needed, he advised us as to how many of each we needed, offering a suggestion for our odd "three". This was great and very helpful but there was more to come. Our design included single knuckles, double knuckles and baskets. We needed 31 baskets in total. The first shipment of baskets arrived and all but one were damaged in shipping. I sent Joshua photos of the boxes as well as samples of the damage. Within 24 hours, a new shipment was out to us. The second and third shipments arrived damaged. As with the first shipment, Joshua was very quick to respond, work with his shipping managed to get replacements out to us. The fourth shipment, half the balusters arrived; the second half was lost in transit. We have finally received all the balusters and can complete the project. Throughout this whole ordeal, Joshua has been a pleasure to work with. He has been responsive, horrified at our shipping experience and apologetic when he could have washed his hands of us. when buying on-line, you never know what you are going to get and if the company will stand behind its product. Joshua did that and more. I highly recommend Joshua Swenson and Direct Stair Parts as a company to do business with.

When I placed my order for a small stair rail job, I asked if they could please pick for grain and similar color for the fittings and rail. When they arrived I was extremely pleased with all the parts, there quality control was on there game, the color and graining was great. I highly recommend this company to both professional woodworker and home owners to use them for there prompt shipping and attention to detail together with excellent prices
