TFP Stairs and Railings

TFP stairs and railings did work for us recently. My family paid them extra to “match our chosen colour choice as closely as possible”, which could have been done if they used to correct wood. They then proceeded to use the wrong wood in order to save on costs without our knowledge. Because of this, we learned after the fact that the stain would not even be close to colour we asked for. We begrudgingly paid the balance of the invoice and then were told the truth of the “cost-saving” choices This behaviour is dishonest and unprofessional. I will never recommend TFP stairs and railings.

Do not recommend this company at all. Very unprofessional overall. We were forced to use them as we had to have our railings removed in order to install treads. That took multiple days and each day we had a different crew of workers that were hit or miss on level of professionalism. Some cursed constantly and didn’t seem to know what they were doing. They even left the highest point of our stairway with no railing system on a Friday afternoon, which is right beside our 5 year old son’s bedroom. Luckily, the other company we were dealing with were able to construct a makeshift banister so we had peace of mind over the weekend. On top of all that, we paid extra to install new nosing so that it can be matched to the flooring of the landing. However, they installed the wrong oak nosing so that the lightest they could match the stain was the exact same colour as the original nosing – making that whole extra side project completely meaningless. I tried to get in touch with the company several times to try and fix the situation, but didn’t hear back from them for close to a week – when we did, we were threatened with a lawyer to pay the balance of that job despite their error.

This company was incredibly unprofessional, the work they did was extremely disappointing. When we complained they threatened us with lawyers. I would not recommend this company to anyone!

TFP Stairs and Railings removed old carpeted staircase and replaced with a new hardwood staircase for me, as well as replacing an ugly half wall with a beautiful wood railing with metal spindles. Salesperson Dave worked well with me to bring my project to life, and I was pleasantly surprised that he contacted me after the work was done to ensure we were pleased with the results (not many businesses do that). Price was more than fair. Workmanship of the 3 trades involved in the project (stair installers, railing installer, and finishing) were all very professional, polite and friendly, as well as being clean in their work, and I can't say enough about the quality workmanship. We are very pleased with the finished project, and would highly recommend this company!

I needed to get some exterior railings put on my house for my parents that were starting to have a hard time with stairs. I was extremely pleased with the service TFP Stairs and Railings provided from start to finish. The guys that installed the railings were courteous and work was done in a timely manner and on such a cold day Would highly recommend this company !!!
