Somerset Stone Center

Somerset Stone and Stove opened its doors to business in 1986 as a simple reclaim stone business. It then developed into an industry leading supplier of natural and concrete stone products. Installation soon became part of the business and quickly gained a reputation for quality and artistic stonework. In 2007 Wayne and Becky Tibbetts purchased Somerset Stone Center and changed the name and began operations as Somerset Stone Center & Excavation. We have added several new services and products to our company. We quickly realized how important it was to have a stone yard full of selections for our customers to choose from. Inventory was brought in and then the hardscape displays began. We filled our stone yard up with patios, walkways, steps, retaining walls, fire pits, benches, bird baths and outdoor kitchens to name a few. In 2011 we decided to focus on our stone services and eliminated the excavation services to our business model. With this being said our name changed back to Somerset Stone Center. In January of 2013 we purchased Olde New England Hearth and Home in Oakland, Maine. We like to look at this not as a purchase but as a business expansion. The name Olde New England Hearth and Home is our new location under the same business name, Somerset Stone Center. This expansion allowed us to grow our business and offer new products. In addition to our stonework services we now offer wood, pellet and gas stoves, Old Town canoes and kayaks, and quality outdoor furniture. In the fall of 2013 we changed our business name to be Somerset Stove and Stone. This new name change was made because of our expanded product line and we feel our name should describe our business. We welcome you to stop in! With our name and reputation spreading throughout the state more and more "Do-It-Yourselfers" visited our stone yard. We go out of our way to assist them in stone selection, design and instructions. We even added a "Do it Yourself" section to our website with ideas and tutorials. We are a Christian family owned business and pride ourselves in Professionalism, Integrity, and Total Customer Satisfaction.
