Valerie Pretto

I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Design in Architecture and a Minor in Sustainability and the Built Environment. In upper division, I was given the opportunity to participate in Puerto Rico Re_Start, an international workshop that aimed to relieve Hurricane Maria’s destruction in Puerto Rico and proposed the incorporation of resilient strategies into the country’s infrastructure after the natural disaster. This experience, followed by insight into the reality of cities overseas during a semester abroad with the Vicenza Institute of Architecture program, inspired me in my own work to create proposals that would not only enhance the human experience, but positively impact society. I am excited to share that I have begun my Master of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania this previous fall.
