A normal bathroom remodel consists of tearing out all of the old items(like shower, flooring, etc). Making any drywall repairs necessary, and prepping shower to be retiled or for an onyx shower to be installed. The floor is usually tiled and sometimes tile base is installed. We paint the walls, and ceiling sometimes, replace any trim if needed. Then finish grouting, caulking, and cleanup. The usual bath remodel takes a week and a half up to 3 or 4 weeks.
