The Stone Gypsy

After a sizable emerald was found in Utah, USA., mining was initiated. While to date, there has been no more emerald found however, a massive vein of about 265 thousand tons of this extremely rare calcite was. Once examined and classified, experts estimate this calcite to more than 150 million years old. Since this form of calcite has never been found anywhere else, the naming of the stone was left to it’s founders. It was named Honeycomb Calcite for it’s naturally forming honeycomb pattern found in the stone, the color and Utah is the beehive state! Look for veins of red and grey clay deposits found in the stone as well, they are rare and makes for a beautiful contrast in the glow.
