Four years ago we bought a slab of Stone West's proprietary Sunstone quartz. We used it for the bathroom vanity countertop, and smaller pieces in the shower (top of pony wall, seat of bench, & top of shower dam). Everything was fine for several years. But recently when I sat on the bench it move slightly, & I discovered that the benchtop was no longer firmly attached to the substrate. The contractor who had done our bathroom remodel came out to repair the bench, but upon removing the benchtop to prepare the substrate he found that the quartz had warped/bowed upwards 1/4" at each end, and thus could not be properly reinstalled. Since the Sunstone quartz is warrantied for 10 years, I called Stone West. They said the man I needed to speak with was busy & would call me back, but he didn't. Next I tried emailing, with photos showing where the bench was installed & how much it had warped. First he said that they don't recommend using quartz in a shower. I said that was ridiculous, because every other quartz manufacturer says that quartz is the perfect material for showers, since it has no pores and can't absorb water. Next he asked for more photos and details of the installation method. After I provided that, he said they would be contacting our contractor and his stone fabricator for more information, but they never did. After another two weeks with no response from Stone West, I contacted them again, and they said that they would not be honoring the warranty.

I purchased beautiful stone slabs for our entire home and tile and my entire experience was positive and professional. Steven was GREAT to work with and knows the business. I highly recommend this store. So many beautiful designs to chose from.

This company is fantastic! I had an idea and they made it come alive. Wonderful craftsman, with great attention to detail. They did a trough sink in one bathroom, a counter top and tub surround in another as well as our new fireplace. I was able to chose which part of my stone slab I wanted where; I am not disappointed by any... all are beautiful and just what I hope they would be.
