The windows in our home were equipped with blinds. We wanted to replace some of them with shades. John presented us with the options we had and made suggestions along with giving us helpful information that allowed us to decide what we thought would work best for us. He obtained the shades and installed them in a fast, efficient manner and explained how to use and care for them. He served our needs in a very professional manner and we would heartily recommend his services to anyone.

We now have had our Plantation Shutters, in our home, installed by John Akins, for over a year. A couple days ago we received our monthly light bill. My wife compared this bill with our bill from this time last year. That bill was $290. This one was $189. WOW. We have two A/C units and two thermostats, both of which are set, 24/7, at 77 degrees. During the summer months we keep our shutters on the front side (East) closed all the time and in the later afternoons, if we don't forget, we close those in the kitchen area (West), until the sun goes down. We believe the shutters have proven to save us money on our monthly light bill. Not only would I recommend these to others, but first and foremost, ShadeCraft would be my number one choice for purchase and installation. John was very professional and careful has he moved around my house installing my “blinds” and shutters. His close attention to the small details make him miles ahead of others in the industry. The process of selecting and installation were extremely easy for me, except for too many choices! I am so glad he was recommended to me.

My house is a 100 year old home so my windows aren’t even close to being standard, modern size windows. John spent hours and hours measuring my windows, recommended beautiful, tasteful and functional cellular blinds and then spent a very long workday installing them. When one of the blinds malfunctioned (manufacturer defect), I sent a message to John, hoping that he would see it first thing on Monday and respond. He responded that Saturday! I am incredibly happy with John and ShadeCraft for the whole home project he carried out for me. He and his company have my highest recommendation, without reservation. ShadeCraft? Really? You are not sure who should install your shutters? ShadeCraft is the best company for your needs. If I only could, I would use ShadeCraft every month. We HIGHLY recommend ShadeCraft for all your window treatment needs. John (the owner) goes above and beyond to guide you in making the best choice for functionality and to fit your budget. We have used his services on two different occasions and were more than thrilled both times. He beat the online prices we could find, and he does the install, so it's done properly and I didn't have to figure out how to install. We ordered Roman shades from an online company and the installation was a nightmare. From now on, ShadeCraft is our "go-to" for anything on our windows. We have sliding panels on the sliding glass doors and they are AWESOME! John even customized them so our dog could look out. We also have faux wooden blinds in a couple of rooms, and the price and quality were excellent. If you need window treatments, and are in his market area, do yourself a favor and call ShadeCraft. Best decision we could have made.

I needed shades for a large sunroom with multiple windows. I called John and made an appointment for him to come down and give me a quote for shades. He was prompt and very thorough in answering all my questions. I received his quote within 24-48 hours and I found it to be reasonable and well-done. I asked him to order the shades and they arrived within his estimated time frame. He installed the shades in about 3-4 hours. I LOVE THEM. I highly recommend them.
