About Us
George Pacenka began his interest in woodworking in high school and college. Beginning as a theatre design and technology major at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL, George took special interest in the scene shop and showed strong ability while building complex theatre sets that needed to be functional and mobile yet eye-catching and realistic. Realizing that he had a desire to hone his skills and experience the finer woodworking crafts, George left Lakeland, FL.
Returning to his native Massachusetts, he entered a position as an apprentice cabinetmaker in a woodworking shop that specialized in kitchens, bathrooms, and entertainment centers. For five years, George learned the finer skills of cabinetmaking from craftsmen with a combined 35 years experience in the trade. During that time, George also enrolled as a business major at University of Massachusetts, Lowell and completed his degree in Business Administration.
In 2004, George joined another company that built cabinetry as well as millwork to include interior and exterior doors, windows, transoms and sidelights, as well as antique reproductions. The new environment allowed George to expand his skills and become a more versatile and well rounded as a cabinetmaker.
In September of 2005, George left that position to open the doors of Generations Woodworking.
