Urrutia Design Thank you for the nice words... very much appreciated.
Your "bench" is 4 meters? Are you saying that your "island" is 4 meters long? The island in the photograph is 4' x 12' Here is the link for the lights in the photo
If your island is a large as I think it is then I would use the same light fixtures. If you want a smaller alternative you could use the Berlin Pendant from Roost...
missmegthomas Many, many thanks to you Jason for such a detailed response. Greatly appreciated. Yes my island is 4 metres (I have 3 young boys who love their food & their space!!) so yes I agree that the larger cone will be perfect and I can source similar styles here in Australia. So thrilled I discovered your designs. Kind regards, Meg..
Love this kitchen! - Hi,
We love this kitchen. Would like to ask about possible use of the image to go along with a kitchen feature article in our magazine. Shawn Elliott Luxury Magazine. Would like to discuss if possible.
Thanks!

llcola The colors are off. Both pictures look like a deep charcoal, while the actual color is a brown!!! This kitchen was the inspiration for my total kitchen renovation which is in progress now, except that I chose a nice charcoal for the walls.
Urrutia Design Thank you! We DO make similar stools with a back. Please contact us directly through our website at www.urrutiadesign.com for details/communication. The flooring material is solid "white oak." It doesn't have any applied stain.

Just wanted to tell you... - that I used this kitchen as the design inspiration for my kitchen! It's almost done and I hope it comes out just as nice! »
ekpardau Yes, please what is the flooring and how has it help up with the appliances and all?? Lots of wood in kitchen floors now. Looks fantastic but how is it holding up with all the water and mess in a typical kitchen?
Urrutia Design The stools were designed by our firm, Urrutia Design. You can contact us if you're interested in ordering similar stools.

Emily Hurley HI there, Found the answer on another photo from this kitchen. The black counters are honed Absolute Black granite. The white counters are White Carrera Marble.
What is the depth of the island? - I'm estimating that its 42-48" thinking that the drawers are 24" wide? I'm going to fabricate similar w/ 24" base units on Kitchen side, 12" on 'seating side' + 12"+/- overhang for seating...so cruising Houz for the right image to 'explain' to my husband! Thanks so much. »
I love this layout. Can you pleae share with me the dimensions of the island and the counter space on either side of the range? Also is there a cleanup sink and dishwasher on the island? »
Just wanted to thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to post these pics and answer questions regarding your design work. You do amazing work and it incredibly inspiring. Thank you! »
Urrutia Design The counter stools were designed by Martha Carvalho (www.MCarvalhoDesign.com). The fabric is a high grade black velvet with chrome nail heads. --Jason Urrutia/Urrutia Design
Urrutia Design Thank you for the compliment. The manufacturer is located in New Zealand. The local distributor is Glass Concepts in San Rafael, CA (415) 256-9766. You can ask for either of the owners, Jeff or Jonmarie. Jason Urrutia/Urrutia Design
I love the hanging/sliding doors. Are they custom or is there a manufacturer? They look a little shiny. Are they painted or what is the material? Beautiful space! »
Urrutia Design Thanks for your nice note...
The color is more of a chocolate than anything. It has undertones of Gray. This is a better showing of the color (see below). Jason Urrutia/Urrutia Design
elle1017 Wow so unexpected that you would pair "chocolate" subway tile with a black and white kitchen.. AND
with what appears to be navy counter stools and carpet under the dining table....It's really so stylish and beautiful, thanks again for your answers.
Urrutia Design The cabinets were made by Lamperti Construction in San Rafael, CA. The doors are made in the "Shaker" tradition. Jason Urrutia/Urrutia Design
Would you please share some further information about the backsplash as to what size/ color and style it is? Absolutely finishes off the kitchen. Thank you so much. »
beth06 Would you happen to remember the color of this tile? Was it from Pratt & Larson? It looks to me like an espresso colored tile with an off white grout.
Urrutia Design The color for the island is "black" and the color for the wall cabinets is "white."
They are painted with an oil based paint over solid wood. Urrutia Desgin
Where can I buy the lights featured in this Kitchen? Specifically the Crystal Pendants.
Can I get the product name and model number for the lights?
Thank You. »
Could you please tell me the colour and the product used in the centre island bench. - What is the colour of the centre bench and what product have you used?
Also what has been used on the tops? »
what color are the cabs and tiiles - What color these cabinets and the subway tiles. It appears the tiles are brown and the cabs grey. But that doesn't seem like a good combination. »
Where can I find the entire floor plan of this home? I would love to see a virtual tour of the entire home. I am building a home on a river with a wonderful view and the exposure to the outdoors in this home is perfect! Love this decore and layout! »
"I try to twist things as much as I can," Urrutia says. Hence, his choice to bring depth to ever-popular white cabinetry by using black cabinetry as the base of the island. The glass pendants were from Ballard Designs.
6. The glass pendants above the sleek island in this modern kitchen caught the eye of many Houzz users. A stunning palette of black, white, gray and navy combine in rich finishes and textures to create a beautiful and bold space.
Jeff, not sure. Do you like free standing hood or one build in like this? I know the free standing one is very in vogue now, but I think I actually like this old fashioned way of doing it instead
