White cabinetry would be ideal.

If you are happy with the layout, not sure what your budget is, you can stain the cupboards dark espresso or cafe. Are you planning to change your countertop, add back splash, etc

I'm changing the countertops later... For now I'm getting all new stainless steel appliances and I painted the wall a light gray... I'm stuck on what to paint the cabinets... It's a great room and the sofas are brown leather. Here's a after pic after I painted... Paint the cabinets a dark espresso color, gray, or white ( not sure )

I would paint them with a oil base white or a darker gray color.

If you go with white cabinets, then , you can pick the colors from backsplash for the counter top, and can go with light or dark . If you go with espresso, then you have to go with a neutral very light counter. I think white would be the best option, being a small kitchen
it will look bigger.
