Sorry about the late response, Been out in the field/construction. The door is Real Wood. by the Simpson Door company and hung by Frank's Lumber "the door store" The finish is a satin interior lacquer (clear...no stain). The door is Douglas Fir. It becomes richer and deeper in tone with age. It has held up wonderfully with the amount of abuse it takes. Have Fun! Jeff
