PVC curtains for interiors?

Hi all,
While thinking about a good alternative to doors between rooms,I had the idea of replacing those with a PVC curtain similar to the one in the image here. I'll obviously try to get some color for those, but can anybody advise which are the potential disadvantages in terms of usage?
Reason for alternative to doors is because I need to save some space in a small apartment.

Google "off gassing from PVC" and read about how that stuff may cause respiratory irritation. Not to mention that production of PVC is about as far from green as you can get. Aesthetics aside, you couldn't pay me to have that in my house.

Ok, I see, but is there any other material I can use for the same solution?
The rooms to connect are a 9 sqm kitchen and a 16 sqm living room

What is your goal with the doors? If you need doors but are concerned with floor space you could try cafe or French doors. Or what about barn style sliders?

How about the 1970s bead or fringe curtains? There are many design offshoots borne fom this trend

About fringe curtains: I already thought about this, but they are not close enough to the style of the room(s).

Thanks anyway, when available ill post more pictures ( works in progress in the room at the moment)

If it's a kitchen/living door, why don't you just take the door off?

Some photos of the room and surrounding area would help to suggest the best solution. But by using sliding door hardware (we offer several varieties) would be a great way to open up more space. I have included a few photos to show that the look can vary greatly.

Thanks everybody, sliding doors won't slide completely at the opening due to other pieces of furniture in the second room limited space in the kitchen.

I will go with cafe doors, they save a lot of space and keep the living room mostly separated from the kitchen.
