I'd like to update the look of this home. I was thinking we could do a mortar wash over the brick on the front porch area, change out the too skinny columns for thicker square cedar posts, and paint dormers and other trim a darker color. I was also thinking of replacing the front door with a 6 light solid wood door.

Additionally, I have considered adding shutters and possibly an iron railing around the porch for safety as it is quite high off the ground in some areas, but I'm wondering if that would look too busy?

Anybody out there have any different suggestions on what we could do?
