How did you achive the thick look of the marble on the island

....the edges are mitered and that is a waterfall effect on either side of the island (where the marble falls off the sides.....lovely)

...apologies but you must ask Melissa Miranda Interior Design as this one is her project....but I would think that the slabs are 1/2" thick.....if you miter the edges and corners....it appears if the slab is 2" - 3" thick....the fooling of the eye is the trick.

I like how you continued the marble along the sides of the counter top. Normally I've only seen it on the surface. I think it looks really good when it's done like this. http://rogangranite.com/marble/

All mitered edges....lots of labor in that...
