well i have been refinishing kitchen cabinets for more than 20 years now......and as a faux finisher i actually know a lot about paint chemistry....maybe you should try it........

Paints actually changed a lot over the years and maybe you never tried new techniques... as long as you use a sealer you can clean,
and of course prep work is the key with any kind of paint....try it ...my clients are loving it....
i also know finishers that are stuck in the past and refuse to try new and better things.....
i painted many kitchen with traditional paints, and of course it works well with the appropriate primer and sealer...chalk paint is just an other option:))) but certainly not a bad option,i actually guaranty my work and did not receive any complains with chalk paint finishes....
