If you can, I would try to open the bathroom up more by demoing that top thing above vanity. Just a suggestion.

Thank you for the response. I like the idea and was also considering removing the headers above the vanity and linen cabinets.

Still very confused what to do in the bathroom. One thought is to remove the bath and move the shower to that location and the toilet to the spot where the shower is.

We had ours remodeled too. The whirlpool tub was removed so we could have a larger shower with a seat ( and rain glass that doesn't show spots). Since we aren't in there at the same time one large square sink was put in the middle so counter and cupboards could go to either side. The foot print is still small but it feels bigger! Having a bathroom to age in safely is nice. And the guest bathroom has a tub.
