How to Plant a Pollinator Patch

User
I have an area that I plant wildflowers for the bees and butterflies. In the past I sowed a good native wildflower mix that I got from Ernst Seed in Meadville. Within a couple of years weeds and other wildflowers also grew in the mix with the yarrow taking over one area. We're going to start over and reseed. The question is do I sow a wildflower mix on the whole 50' x 20' area or break it up into areas with each area planted with a single type of seed? The only problem that I see with dividing it into patches of a single seed is that I would need to keep the whole patch somewhat weeded and my back isn't good enough to be doing that.
