So while reading my million Gardening books this winter, I noticed many of them said to add allium family members all over your garden to help with pest control. (something about the smell I guess?) And this year I was bit with the Onion Fever and wanted to try all different types of them in my garden. SO I plants lots and lots of Shallots all over the place, regular different onions, some green onions, wild Garlic, chives, ornamental alliums and of course my famed Walking onions. They are planted around my beans, my celery, my lettuce, my peas, and my cabbage (and other areas where I could fit them in)... I have only killed 2 cabbage worms so far, and I really havent seen anything that is bad in my garden, and I really have a great garden this year. I have lots of bees coming to my chive flowers and stopping at my tomato plants and cukes. Im thinking next year ill definately do the same thing. Im crossing my fingers that it stays likethis...-cass
