Sounds good - I planted only four leeks this year (the only plants in the onion family in my garden). But I heard that basil planted with tomatoes is not only beneficial to the tomatoes, but also keeps insects (including hornworms) away. So far, no hornworms and my tallest tomatoes are already 6 ft. I'm the same way as you...hoping it stays like this. We're going on vacation and I don't want hornworms popping up and decimating the tomatoes while we're gone.

...But then, hornworms usually show up in July so the basil has not yet been put to the real test.

I believe that the theory of interplanting with alliums is that their flowers attract the beneficial, parasitic wasps that lay eggs on the damaging caterpillars.

I never had any horn worms last year, but had 6 very pathetic plants. My 15 plants this year are almost all bigget than the end of season toms last year. I also planted about 20 different basils as companions. We like basil, but not that much. Also planted naturtiums which are coming along nicely, borage I'm not sure, something is coming along might be the borage.

Also going on vacation end of this week for 8 days, I'm going to pray every day that the dreaded horn worms don't find my garden in the middle of a barren housing community.
