I had flies all over mine. Didn't notice ants/etc. I wonder if that tangle stuff would work for ants and maybe some sort of fly trap (they sell them here at the farm store)???

i was told to plant a rose bush under the grapevine and they will attack the rose and hopefully they will leave you grapes alone. I did and had no problem

If franktank is talking about tanglefoot, its a non drying glue, and anything, small children included, will stick to it.

For ants you have to keep your vine area clear from ants by spraying Triazicise. I don't have fruit flies on my grapes but I have more dangerous ones Wasps. I found the only solution is to bag the grapes. It is tedious, boring and time consuming but if you know more practical method let me know it.

Get an Aardvark.

You can try trapping the fruit flies with some jars of apple cider vinegar, laced with a drop of dish detergent and a spoon of sugar. They are attracted to the vinegar and the sugar, but the soap will kill them. I'd put them here and there in the vineyard, and see what happens. I agree, you will have to use pesticide on the ants.

I have used and seen how coffee grounds under and around all your grape plants should keep them away . Boric acid also works well to rid oneself of ants . Spread across their path and they bring back to the nest . I need to learn how to rid myself of normal sized flies with some gold on them from eating my ripening red seedless grapes
