Up are ready to get going.

Notice the jackets the folks are wearing. It is Africa, but we were close to the water and it was November. Farther inland, it was warmer.

As you can see, this port is not fancy. There was a lot of work being done. In November, not very many cruise ships were making a call in Tangier.

In the afternoon, I was feeling better and got off the ship to walk on the pier. Then I could honestly say that I have been to Tangier.

Several vendors had set up on the pier to try to sell some items to the ship's passengers as they returned from being in town. Some ports are like this, where the vendors are right on the pier; most ports limit access and all the vendors are off the pier beyond the checkpoint.

I never really counted, but when we returned I noticed that I had taken many photos of vendor's displays of leather purses and bags. I have no knowledge if these items were made in Morocco or some other place.

Nothing really spectacular, but an assortment of valuable items to purchase on the pier next to Holland America's Maasdam in Tangier.

OK, I'll admit that this photo is out of order. It was taken early morning prior to docking. That is "The Rock of Gibraltar" across from Tangier.

Tomorrow, November 10, we will be in Almeria, Spain. It would be a long day for us as our excursion to us to Granada. Our tour is scheduled to last about 8 hours.

Ha! We're just getting started here. This is a fancy joint. It is supposed to mirror a famous one in NYC.

I kept these last ports to a minimum. Next up, we'll visit the Alhambra and Generalife Gardens in Granada. I don't think that I will be able to present in less than 5 days. And then we go to Valencia, then Barcelona. Holy smokes, this will take a while and we aren't half done with this 42 days cruise.

My day at the hospital (routine) can't compete with Tangier.
