If you should go before me, dear, walk slowly

Down the ways of death, well-worn and wide,

For I would want to overtake you quickly

And seek the journey's ending by your side.

I would be so forlorn not to descry you

Down some shining highroad when I came:

Walk slowly, dear, and often look behind you

And pause to hear if someone calls your name.

I'm not sure I agree with Adelaide Love on this one, about Walking Slowly.
My thinking is that when one is released from the earthly bounds one can soar on angel wings, just leave a message at the Pearly Gates of your whereabouts and we'll meet up.

Your post tugged at my heart; I still miss my father, even though he passed so long, ago--in 1958. I hope that somewhere in Eternity, we'll be together, again.
