Now I've got eggs attached to the floating plants in the pond and eveyone has calmed down!

Same here! On Saturday morning, I went outside about 6:30 right before daylight. I found one of my females laying 3/4 out of the water on top of my parrot's feather. I thought she was dead, but just hiding... After seeing me, she untangled herself & the chase continued..

On a funnier note, one of the males got tangled up in the parrot's feather trying to catch her. She had him completely outsmarted until I swung by to free him... Then the chase was really on!

Luckily for her sake, everything calmed down by late afternoon.

This morning I watched a fantastic mating chase between my golden and blue orfe. On closer inspection we now have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of little ball shaped eggs in alily pot and attached to pond weed. How long do we have to wate for these eggs to become fry? How long does this mating chase go on

I've already seen teeny tiny little, almost see-thru, babies .... not alot but I have caught a glimpse of a few.

I think they're done or finishing the mating situation. Seperated some of the eggs from the fish and will wait and see if the babies appear!

We had our first "mating chase" on Sunday, 4/22

Our pond is one year old and we have 7 Koi and two goldfish.
The largest one is Thor, almost 12 inches, and I have Storm near the same size, but they all got involved.

Thor has always been the biggest and strongest, and like a dummy I guess I associated that with a man...dummy me, and I DO know better...lol...my Thor is female all the way!

I took a closer look at the eggs and I beleive there's little ones in there. Some may of just hatched also. Will keep you updated. It's so exciting. I've not even had the pond up and running a year. More like 10 months or so.
