If it were mine it would be gone already. Not much room for it there anyway.

More theologically, how much bigger can it get in that location? I think that is a spot whuch will just require periodic replacement.

1st thanks all. They were there when we bought the home last summer and I sort of thought the same thing as for space, you can see in the background there is another on the other corner, it is doing fine. I am just learning on some of this stuff. There is a variety of bushes on the front of my house and I am not sure what they all are. Maybe tomorrow I can get some more pictures and get your thoughts. and with judicious pruning.. taking out all the dead ... it can be given anouther life .. or longer life ...

but that is not the place for a 5 year renovation project ... and as noted by others... it really wasnt well sited to begin with ...

too many peeps see this tiny babe.. and think it will ive in suspended animation for decades.. not realizing the underlying tree .. simply grows forever ...

i cant ID it.. but tip death like that.. is usually a function of drought.. heat .. and spider mites.. which are long gone.. until next time the population explodes . ...

and since you are a new owner... let me point out.. that plants are planted to HIDE the foundation.. crikey.. not ON THE FOUNDATION .... what is it..6 inches on center from the foundation??? .. its not going to be hard to guess what my thoughts are on the rest of the plants ... lol ....
