In another thread on growth rates of Carya ovata, Corkball mentioned that he(?) grows them in MN, zone 4. Around here they only grow in the warmer parts of the state, zone 5 and 6, so I had rather assumed that they wouldn't grow where I am, but it seems possible.
With other borderline hardy trees, I've sourced trees from northern seed sources, and I am wondering if anyone has a source of trees from northern seed to suggest for shagbark hickory. Perhaps St. Lawrence Nursery, though they don't seem to have an online list right now. Other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
