tree ID please

I'm thinking redbud but not sure.. Has much bigger leaves than my redbud.

I'll say 'Forest Pansy' Redbud.

BTW I assume this isn't NOW - with everything so lush and green!

Despite the accolades, awards and popularity it is in fact (like other Cercis canadensis) prone to dying back and even complete failure. And as we can see in the photo it is also a pansy about retaining the purple leaf coloring that is the entire point of planting it, the floral display of this particular cultivar not being very effective.

Can't say I'd plant one either. I have not known anyone personally who had theirs thrive or survive more than a few years.

Can't say I want one, but a local Wal Mart has them in landscape islands of the parking lot and they have done well for a number or years now.
