Definitely a beauty!

Dear all. I'm in the South-East of the UK and have grown a few Brugmansia. Some with success. I must say that this 'Super Spot' is extremely easy. It's a compact plant at about 1 metre tall and flowers abundantly but the best bit is the surprising fragrance of intense sweet 'lime sherbet' that is strongest after nightfall. Mine was against a south-facing wall (see photo below). The colour of the blooms was slightly darker than in my photo but I couldn't get it to produce the tomato-red flowers that some people advertise it has. it did set quite a few seed pods which I was able to fully ripen on the plant after bringing into the greenhouse when the frosts came. I was able to harvest over 50 seeds from the one plant but I suggest handling these with gloves on due to their toxicity. I am currently trying to find another 'Super Spot' for the garden mainly because of that particular and strange limey fragrance!

The scent is surprising and stronger than the usual Brugs. sold in garden centres. I was addicted to that sweet acidic lime fruit smell. Later there were about 8 pods American football shaped and 6-7cm long - that's quite good for the UK. They may have been pollinated at night by a hawmoth although I read somewhere that bees can do it during the day also.

Other kinds such as 'Dalai Lama' and the cross 'Painted Lady x M.E.W.' possess a heady marzipan fragrance. I'm trying to find one of those two kinds online.
