Hi Cookie, these are rapid growers. I planted sweet peas this spring. Mine are probably 4 feet tall and blooming now. Did you soak your seeds before planting them out? and how deep did you plant the seeds? Other factors that could affect growth is that the seeds are too old. Is this the case with your seeds?

I guess they don't like me. My first batch didn't take at all so planted another batch (bought this season and were McKenzies and well before the expiry date). I did soak them them overnight. I planted them about an inch deep. I think I will do runner beans next year as I built a trellis all alongside the house.

My sweet peas were very slow and even now are only about 3 feet tall. And the package was suppose to be mixed colours and I only have white ones blooming.I have had very cool temps with only a couple of days of heat units so that may have to do with it. I would say give them another try next year and plant them with beans.
