Today is a Happy Sad Day

We lost another Holy C. Gardener today. Mr. E. struggled with alcoholism and probably depression most of his older adult life. He died far too young, and it is sad. Never having gardened before, Mr. E. was actually our most well traveled and horticulturally aware gardener as he took in a lot of flora in his days in the military. He developed a green thumb and seemed to enjoy learning so many new things about the garden.

Yesterday the gardeners all went to visit him and took a beautiful bouquet of flowers Mr. E had helped grow. They went to explain how meaninful and important his life was as an organic gardener and I was so proud of them all.

Please remember that on a day when you are feeling down, very little and tiny like you don't matter in this world, there is always SOMEONE who values what you do. Even the smallest, tiniest thing has great meaning and beauty. Nobody is worthless.

Edna, that's why it's kind of happy. Mr. E is finally free. That is a very lovely post. I may ask his roommate if we can use it in his remembrance service.

So sorry for the loss of your friend GGG, we come from all walks of life, I'm sure his garden and his gardening friends brought a lot of comfort to him and as you say he is finally free.
