Hi, steve, did you have any luck on getting spores? I'm on the same boat than you. It shouldn't be too difficult for somebody who has a spore producing tree fern (or lives nearby one) to collect spores and mail them, right?

no no luck at all

The fronds on my Cibotium schiedei are carrying loads of spore cases. I have moved it into a sunnier spot hoping that the cases will do a better job of maturing than they did last year. If they mature properly I will collect the spore and make it available to any hobbiest that wants some. I'll post a message here, to that effect. Additionally, I will be on the lookout during my next trip to Hawaii for ripe spore. Last time I found some during March on Kauai.
