Janen, I live in San Antonio, Tx. We have usually had a hard freeze by this time. This is zone 8b/9a.

I am an old poster, I had computer problems and had to sign up again with a new user name.

Cameron, I agree, I feel very lucky to have many things blooming. I grew up near Brownsville, TX where they seldom have freezes. Once in the 50's they had a hard late freeze. That year Mother got a blue ribbon for her pothos house plant. There were no flowers for the show that year.

Just look at your winter blooms, beautiful. I did a walkabout yesterday our snow is slowly starting to disappear. So far one Hydrangea bent and snapped off even though it had been tied up, my Daphne which is in a protected area has quite a few blackened leaves for the first time (been there since 94) The birds have got into the Hellebore seed pots and scratched them all out WHINE, WHINE,WHINE. We set a new record for snow in December here. BUT, look on the bright side since we actually got a winter this year maybe, just maybe we'll have a decent spring and summer for a change and if a lot of things have croaked that means I can go buy more, right?

Our coldest temps are the end of Jan. I'll accept your "whine", if you will accept mine in August.
You know, when I moved near a nursery, I thought I would be there all the time. But so far I have not. We'll see when spring starts popping it's head.
Yesterday I thought it is only 6 weeks until time to prune the roses. Here we prune roses on Valentine's day.

I am soooooo glad to be back.
