DO a search on this topic - it was only recently discussed. Anyway I am planting hot peppers, okra, eggplant, bitter melon, luffa sponge (it is a veggie when young) Lots of edible gourds, malabar spinach in the shade. There are some corn that take the heat. Sweet potatoes, yuca,dasheen.
It is always a time to plant something!!

Most of my melons, squash, cucumbers, pumpkins, gourds etc have all been in for a while now so I'm not sure if I would plant more of those now as they usually don't do so well for me during the rainy season. But you could always try some summer squash in a location that will get some light midday-afternoon shade and still probably get a harvest before it gets way too hot since summer squash and zucchini are quick crops.

So far, the only thing I see not mentioned here are the Everglades/Matt's/Red Currant tomatoes. Although they are only the size of your thumbnail they will bloom and set fruit even in the middle of the summer.

I just got seeds for everglades tomatoes.

I am growing bell peppers, watermelon, canteloupe, cucumber but those were all started a little over a month ago.

Mango's are a coming! One more month for ripe season, yes!

Oh hey - 1 thing that keeps going for me through every season is the 'wild' arugula (rucola selvatica). I only needed to buy it once as it self seeds easily. Pinetree has it..

i WISH i could keep the Everglades tomatoes alive, i have had 5 or 6 plants already and have killed them all over the years, i have no idea why i cant keep them going.

what conditions do the sweet potatos need?
do you just cut up one from the store that has "eyes" on it?

linchat, if you want mangos come on over! i must have picked over 100 already, im running out of people to give them to, i might stop at one of the food banks tomorrow and see if they will take some.

has anyone grown garlic?
