Should work for the coffee. Firecracker plants are propagated by division.

There are a number of plants that have the common name firecracker. Can you post a picture of the plant you are asking about?

Firecracker Plant, R. equisetiformis can also be propagated by cuttings. I used cuttings from the cream variety and the red variety to create a 'clump' of mixed. It can also be Ground-Layered by submerging a stem in soil until it grows roots.

Wild coffee is my downfall. Have tried soooo many times, so many cuttings...I think I have five in the garden now from the original. Want bees? Plant wild coffee!

Ah, Firebush. Yeah, this one is fairly iffy for me when it comes to trying to root cuttings. I tried with four cuttings and only one is still alive. It seems the cuttings are very tempermental about their conditions. I have not tried Air Layering them, but it might be something to try. Next time I have a stray branch, I will have to give it a shot.
