All things being equal, they should bloom next year.

It depends. Most of my SFs bloom the next year, but that hasn't always been the case. I've had some that have taken two years, and even one that didn't bloom until its third year. Also, more than a few won't come into their own for at least another year, so don't be too hasty about getting rid of a plant you might think is ugly. For example, it took a few years before my VENUS FLYTRAP looked like the hybridizer's website photo.

most times they bloom next year. I have had a few that waited three years before they bloomed. When that was the case, they bloomed beautifully when they did bloom.

Thanks for your replies. I'm an old gardener, but new to daylilies. I was afraid I wouldn't be around to see them bloom
