Is the melon supposed to be sweet or does it have other uses. Sometimes I don't know what to do with the Asian produce at Webb City farmer's market.

Thanks Glenda I got your seeds yesterday. I used to have flowering tobacco that reseeded but that was before those two global warming years we had.

I don't know if anyone gets to Neosho, but there is a good bakery there on Wood Street just off the square. I bought apple bread there for my company on Tuesday, Oct 14. We had it for breakfast Wed. and snacks Thursday evening and breakfast Fri. so It keeps long enough for company for several days. There was other food and snacks but they went for the apple bread. The oatmeal raisin cookies are also really good. I have been known to cheat at Thanksgiving and burn a spicy candle that smells like pie or something. This would be better because you can eat it. I don't know how busy she would be on a holiday but I will run to the bakery from now on when expecting company.

The info I found on it says it's sweet when it's mature and used like zucchini when it's immature. One site said it gets sweeter after it's stored. But I don't expect them to have time to mature here so the ones I get likely won't be sweet. I think I will be able to use it in soup though.
